- Back in the early 90’s Gabi, Ricardo Vizcarra and myself used to join almost daily to discuss for hours and hours about magic in general and Ascanio and his conception in particular. One night in 1993, at the old headquarters of AMIC (Catalan magician’s association), I took my videocamera and asked Gabi to perform some magic for us. That night he was especially prankster, joking all the time without taking seriously none of the tricks he did. However, not even the irreverent humor he used or the improvised patterns full of swearwords could hide his deep thinking and the flawless handling in everything he did. Here you have one of the many variations of the Chop cup he developed at that time. Enjoy!

A principios de los 90, Gabi, Ricardo Vizcarra y yo solíamos juntarnos casi a diario para discutir durante horas y horas sobre magia en general y sobre Ascanio y su concepción en particular. Una noche de 1993, en la antigua sede del AMIC (Asociación de Magos ilusionistas de Cataluña) me dio por llevar mi videoámara y le pedí a Gabi que nos hiciera algo. Esa noche estuvo especialmente bromista, haciendo el payaso todo el rato sin tomar en serio ninguno de los juegos que hacía. Pese a ello, ni su humor irreverente ni las charlas improvisados repletas de palabrotas podían tapar ni su profundo pensamiento ni el manejo impecable en todo lo que hacía. Aquí tienes una de las muchas variaciones del Chop cup que desarrolló por aquella época. Disfrutad!
