@@christopherga3309 nope not a chance, Mads did the aristocratic oppulance well but not the switch from calm to sudden violence like Hopkins did.
I love them both. Hopkins played Lecter perfectly, but as far as the physical description, Mads was closer. I honestly cannot choose a favourite between the two.
This is actually a staple of Glenn Gould's performances, he has a tendency to hum along to his playing and interpret the score quite freely. Many criticize his approach while others consider him to be a genius.

If you like the series, I implore you to read the books by Thomas Harris, they're delightful. Then i recommend the films, a different vision but it synced with my imagination having been fortunate to read the books beforehand.

Lemon Grass and they don t include Rosalyn Tureck or Andras Schiff who both have recorded the Goldberg Variations . I think it funny that the aria would become independent of the rest of the variations because of Silence of the Lambs . Be Well

Mads Mikkelsen actually did it, he took the part of Hannibal Lecter and actually did a better job than Anthony Hopkins. That's impressive.

I woudn't say that one of them was better than the other because both made the best out of their characters. They play just very different interpretations of the role.
The two portrayals can't be compared, both were amazing performances. However, Hopkins and Mads had two different ways of portraying Hannibal. Both equally amazing in their own right.
They both did a great ass job come on :p
