  • This tombstone once marked the grave of a traveler on the Oregon Trail. S.M. Marshall was one of many who died from cholera while traveling west. According to local lore, Marshall requested to be buried on a hilltop, facing Kentucky where he had left his wife. His tombstone was found near Baldwin Creek in the township of Rockcreek.
