Gran rival de España para las Eurocopas, bien en fases de clasificación o dentro del torneo. Rumanía fue en las Euros lo que había sido Yugoslavia para los Mundiales. En un periodo de 20 años (1976 - 1996) que abarcaba 6 campeonatos de Europa, solamente hubo una vez en la que no nos enfrentamos con ellos (Euro de 1992). En las demás (1976 clasificación; 1980 clasificación; 1984 fase de grupos; 1988 clasificación; 1996 fase de grupos) nos los encontramos en todas.

thanks for this! Too bad you haven't caught the scenes after the final whistle in Austria-Romania 0-0, when the Austrians were celebrating like they had just won the World Cup! One wonders why, if they hadn't been compensated for their efforts by those who needed that draw... Anyway, this was one of the best Romanian teams ever... Most of them will be there in Italy'90, but for many of them the extra 2 years mattered.

First
