  • Alex Kidd in The Enchanted Castle, one of the oldest Genesis games around, (I can't believe it came out in 1989!) and a pretty simple yet scary platformer overall. If there's any game of this genre I'd expect to be beatable without a single jump, it'd be this one. Well, I decided to put that to the testo...
But some of the items the Kidd has at his disposal might actually make the challenge too easy. This lead me to come up with a ranking system of sorts so I can't just Wizard Cane or copter my way to victory without a single thought.

Alex: can completely destroy cars with one punch of his bear hand without hurting himself.

I love how the music for the final level is interrupted constantly by the pogo music

Gods, I forgot how cruddy the pedicopter theme sounds. It's like the aural equivalent of indigestion. The pogo theme sounds just plain inane too. And I still haven't forgotten how dumb Alex Kidd looks while using the wizard's cane.

Jeez, the fact that you could make it THAT far without jumps is still pretty darn impressive, and without needing higher-tier tool abuse even.

Alex Kidd and Git go together like bread and butter. You always know it's going to be an especially good episode when it involves everyone's favorite glass cannon. 😂

  • @chrisman2100

Man that final level just continues on…and on…AND ON!!!!

  • @ivortering7120

So, I saw name "Springfield Gorge" and thought, "So, that's where your idea about old sage being Bart came from!". But then I went to maps and saw that actual name of the stage was "Rock Mountain"... Never have I laughted louder at my own stupidity!

  • @rcblazer

You almost did it! If only that final level wasn't in your way.

  • @Dr.Livingdark

If you do this, you manage to unlock Kevlar Alex mode, where he won’t die from losing in rock paper scissors. He’ll still get a heart attack and be sent to the ER until the next game but hey, at least it sent as bad as before, right?

  • @Brewski007

Been a fan since Creepy Bad Endings #3, you’re the one who got me to love Dynamite Headdy, maybe for your next video see if you can beat Headdy with as few head cases as possible!

Oh damn, just that pesky final level!

  • @HopkinsTheMovie

Did you know the last two levels of this game inspired two of the levels in Sonic 2?

  • @bubblegumxo

I bet Git is still hearing that pogo stick song on loop in his head 🤭

With how Alex Kidd was the first star of the weakest characters in gaming ever, and how he could die to turtles, weasels, and toy planes, I imagine he would also die if he so much touches a slug, snail, caterpillar, worm, or even a butterfly.
