What makes it even worse is that they use guardian breeds like kangals and whatever breed nthis is and not game dogs like the American Pitbull. Why does that matter? Well, dogs like kangals are guardian dogs. While guardian breeds are bred to guard sheep from hungry animals, they were bred more for deterrence and will use their size, loud bark, and numbers (guardian dogs are rarely set out to guard without other guardian dogs) to scare hungry animals away. Actually taking on another animals is more of a last resort. They also lack the gameness and joy of a battle. This is why they are considered cur dogs--dogs that are not game and are more likely to give up or run if things become to tiring, painful, or challenging. Dogs like the American Pitbull are the complete opposite. They were bred specifically to take on other animals, usually in a one-on-one battle. Bull baiting, dog combat, wild boar baiting, all usually involve a dog taking on an opponent one on one. Thus, American Pitbulls were bred for and possess a trait called gameness and enjoy combat more than other dogs. Maybe enjoy is not the right term. It's kind of like instinct. Just like a border collie has the instinct to herd, the American Pitbull has the instinct to latch onto something and do battle. So in a sport that involved putting a dog against another dog or animal, it would be less cruel to use a dog that has the instinct to take on other animals and displays far less signs of being uncomfortable or stressed from the ordeal.
Those dogs are big af.. and seem like good loyal dogs.. i feel bad for them because they don’t want to fight I was raised around dog fighting unfortunately and the dogs I’ve seen go into war mode when it was time to fight.. I’m glad my uncles stopped fighting dogs because now he is a advocate against dogfights..

It's crazy, seems like he fights that dog every 2-4 weeks, that's insane, I don't know any fighters personally, here in America, that fight their dogs more than three or four times, EVER and even then it's at least two months between. Theres dogfighting in America it's not on Facebook but it's out there when they get close to getting caught they turn the dogs loose I've seen them walking around out here in the country getting into people's garbage starving. My uncle used to do this, he had some of the biggest and strongest dogs, I remember he had customers from Bulgaria and other European countries. My uncle died from a disease transformed to him from a dog bite, none of us really mourned his death. This is only common in rural areas, no one would dare do this in urban areas.

This video just reinforces the idea that dogs are such loyal companions to humans they will do ANYTHING to please their owner, if it means fighting and getting praised for it the dog won't care. These dogs are bred to fight, and notice it isn't just one specific breed allover... I have 2 pitbulls that I have raised for years and these dogs are the most loyal breed coming from a long line of bullfighting. Its sad to see dogfights because these dogs remind me of my own. Its hard to imagine looking into the eyes of a fighting pitbull when all I see are my own dogs who protected me when I was in trouble.
I am from the Kurdistan region of Iraq and trust me, this is the first time I'm hearing about this type of event. I think it's absolutely horrible what they're doing.
But the amount of Racist and xenophobic comments I'm seeing is unjustified. these are a very niche group of bad people that do this and you shouldn't clump all Kurdish people in this matter. I don’t know much about Kurds but I’ve had an overall positive impression of them because I saw a video about Kurdish women who fought against Isis. You guys appear to remain tenacious in a dangerous region that seems hostile to you. When i watched this video it definitely changed the way i thought about Kurds for the worse, but then i came to the comments and saw so many Kurds like you who hate these dogfights, so i was relieved that this isn’t as widely popular. My uncle used to do this, he had some of the biggest and strongest dogs, I remember he had customers from Bulgaria and other European countries. My uncle died from a disease transformed to him from a dog bite, none of us really mourned his death. This is only common in rural areas, no one would dare do this in urban areas.
