    Another suggestion is for the book publishers to provide/sell a separate map pack of the color/blackline maps that the students can use so we don't have to bend the book copying them! :)

    Maybe try some contact paper on the covers of the book? I used to do that for hardcover books when I was a student in high school and also in college - works on paperback books as well. Really helps preserve the book as it's having to be carted around in backpacks, like you mentioned.

    I think we would be good friends if we knew each other. I love the Cartography book too, and I will be so sad if my kids destroy it. Thanks so much for your awesome videos! My oldest is going in to Challenge A next year, and I will be directing it! All your information is so helpful.

    What are the white and black pages used for if they are not used for coloring or drawing the maps? Could these be used instead of blank paper for drawing the maps? Thank you! Love the videos! :)

    Hi, I realize this video is older, but I was wondering if you could explain how the children are taught to draw the weekly maps by heart and how to put it all together on a world map at the end of the year. Do they use long. and lat. grids? Do they start with tracing or do they just practice each day to draw their own copying from the model? Any tips to help with scale, proportion, placement? Thank you if you see this!

    Are the lists of locations within the book or only in the Ch A guide? Asking for those interested in challenging themselves to learn to draw the world who might not be homeschooling or who might not be in 7th grade. Thank you.

    Hi! Thank you for all your wonderful and helpful videos. We are first year homeschoolers and have a son in Challenge A. I'd really like to get those geography term cards (the ones with pictures and laminated). Where did you purchase them?

    What is the username for the terms flashcards?!?! I want to download those! I found some images last time we went through Ch A but they were not as awesome as those flashcards.

      The flashcards are under the "history and more" category when you search, and they are under username mnkricau.

    Which day of your week does your daughter do the big map? If you have her do 1 small map for 4 days, then 1 big that ends up being 5 days, plus community day. Thanks for the tutorials!!

    • @HomeschoolStory
      @HomeschoolStory  Před 6 lety +1

      Elizabeth Langford, great question. She draws the specific area each day at home (4 days) but on the 4th day she actually uses the bigger paper and draws the world and then draws her specific area in the world. Sometimes I have her just do the outlines of the continents and just the detail of what she’s working on that week. Other times I have her fill in everything she’s memorized up to that point. So the 4th day is a combo map of a world map + more detailed map.
