UEFA.tv takes you back to the last competitive fixture between the two sides in the group stages of EURO 2004. Someone seems bitter... I don't think France has a love story with referees, we had bad calls to our benefits, or the other way around too... Like pretty much everyone else. How about Tudor in this game, the guy buried us, basically scored not one but TWO own goals. Unbelievable.
This was such a bizzare game and a weird Croatian team lead by a Metusalem Otto Barić, nicknamed Otto Idiotto, who came to the tournament pretty much playing 19th century tactics and formations lol.
As always, we messed up the first (easy) game of the tournament and then had to pull chestnuts out of fire in the following two, against greater opponents.
A big Controversy was Otto not taking a massively talented 18year old wunderkind, Niko Kranjčar, to the tournament.
Interesting how Niko's father, Cico Kranjčar, would make his son the star of the team when he took over Croatia after this EURO, but made the same mistake, by snubbing another great youngster, Luka Modrić.
