The Zimbabweans should quit this disgraceful crap. The Makishi Masquarade has nothing whatsoever to do with anyone who lives in Zimbabwe. It comes from the area when Congo, Angola and Zambia meet, a distance of 1000km from where this weak and shameful nonsense is being exhibited. The Makishi masquerade is a deeply religious ceremony, and in the 56 year history of Zambia, no one who is not Luvale, Luchazi, Tchokwe and Mbunda has ever dared to dorn a likishi costume. The Zimbabweans copied this from the Zambia National Dance Troop across the river and are milking it for commercial value. This is disrespectful and needs to be stopped. No one goes to the hills where the Shona bury their ancestors to impugne their resting place.

fake makishi. The Makishi are ONLY from Zambia, Angola and Democratic Republic of Congo. There are no Makishi in any other country in the world, and it is shameful that some people should steal someone else's culture for commercial profit. The songs are wrong; the masks mean nothing and, and the dance is horrible. They have even thrown in the masks from Gule Wamukulu all the way from the eastern side of Zambia and Malawi. This is shameless opportunism and should stop.
