I just passed Lich in danger 5 the other day, I had a god run, everything you'd want: Sifd relic, elephant, explosives consommables, blood donation, 2 or 3 sets of alien eyes… I don't remember my exact weapon set, it was a mix of scissors and saws, but I don't think I ever was in danger the whole run. No need to be good when you're lucky!
I think Medical Guns is my favorite Lich, but happy this one works well. Think you can make Ghost Scepter work? It’s one that LOOKS like it should be powerful, but ends up being crazy hard to actually close out.
Yes rolling 100 materials for +9 health is good, but it also does have an opportunity cost for the best upgrade you skipped, so you are looking more at 100 materials for +9 max hp and -3 dodge, or 72 materials for +9 max hp and -1 armor etc.

I think I’ve heard “Every point of dodge makes each future point of dodge better” on almost every video, but I’m not sure I’ve ever heard the explanation behind it. Is it just something like “10% dodge might as well be 0% dodge, because it’s too unreliable to change how you play”?
It's easiest to picture at the extremes. If you had 97% dodge, going to 98 would cut the amount of damage you were taking by 1/3. Going from 98 to 99 would reduce it by 1/2. Going from 99 to 100 would be infinite. That curve holds true all the way backwards, so each point prevents a greater portion of incoming damage than the one before.
