How and why to do ripping (Minimum tillage)

Continuous ploughing of soil has been found to have more negative effects than benefits. Use of a tractor-drawn ripper has been found to have more benefits as compared to use of disc-ploughs.
Use of a ripper, not only increases the productivity of soil but also protects the environment as less fossil fuel is burned, less air pollution, less soil water evaporation among other benefits. All these helps in reducing emissions from agricultural production.
