Lou, the one thing I've learned (or re-learned) from this series is that there's really nothing new under the sun. It's 1915, but here you have adjustable shocks, you're using a density-altitude gauge to tune your carb, and under the hood you've got a precursor to Smokey Yunick's 'Hot Air Engine' from the 1980's. The only difference between now and then is the modern technology to address the same issues they thought about and faced 120 years ago. What is new that wasn't around back then are those stupid speed bumps! I'm always curious to hear how the first V-8's sounded. Nothing like today's engines, but if you listen carefully, you still get a hint of that V-8 growl we all love. Once again Lou, this is an outstanding video series!!

Lou , what a fantastic car ! I did a little research . One of the trunk and treats showed the race car priced at $1250 . Back in 1915 that would've been the equivalent to $37,964 today . Mr. Travis is defintely a gearhead. You can tell by his hands and bandages on his knuckles. He loves working on his cars . Thanks for sharing Lou and thanks to Mr. Travis for preserving automotive history.

Lou, This is one of the coolest cars I have seen. Thank you for bringing such incredible machines to all of us and sharing in such great people's lives. I am starting a CZcams channel as soon as it is warm enough to be out in the unheated barn with the building of a restomod of a 1928 Morgan. The Morgan RIP/GN special is the one I have chosen to build. Instead of using a GN rear (none available in the US.) I am using an MG rear differential and beautiful spoked wire wheels. I am using an experimental aircraft opposed twin as the power plant possibly with a turbo.. I am setting up a machine shop and a forge in order to cast the aluminum adapter to link the motor and a 4 speed manual MG transmission. I am going to be able to cast any parts and then turn them down on the lathe or the mill. Depending on how the project turns out I may start building turn key replicas here in the States as well as kits. They will essentially be WWI airplanes without a prop or wings. I am going to use aircraft ceconite and spray it with plasticizer. It will be a wood over metal frame similar to both the Morgan and the Pembleton.

Great car, Alan is amazing! Love that engine, overhead valve, 3.0l V8, 2bbl carburetor in 1915! Sounds like a flat-plane (180°) crankshaft, and the tachometer reads 3,500 rpm, I wonder how many rpm it can actually turn!?! I crazy go nuts for this one, thanks Lou😁❤️

Another great car and video. I am going to be sad when this series ends. All your videos are good but these are on a whole other level. This one seems to have very narrow tires for something that can go 100 mph. The race drivers back in those days sure had guts. Or were crazy. It is a shame that the area you drive in has those speed bumps or Alan could give you a real ride. I would be interested to know which of these cars is his favorite? Hope to see more.
