I’ve been hunting for the last few years with integrally suppressed shotguns. Tons of benefits: Dogs and humans ears are thankful, neighboring dwellings aren’t getting disturbed, plus the game nearby isn’t spooked. Chris mentioned the bead and or site picture, the suppressor doesn’t have any effect on target acquisition.
biggest pro I see for hunting is when using dogs when bird hunting. I don't have a dog trained for hunting, but I won't shoot anything around my dogs but a suppressed 22lr, I don't want to damage my dogs' hearing. For the price of this silencer, I don't see why you wouldn't use one around dogs unless you are legally prohibited.
Any specific brands/models? Haven’t heard much about integrally suppressed shotguns, in fact in the US shotgun suppressor market seems lagging behind especially in comparison to hushpower moderator offerings common in the UK.
I'm digging that TRX in the background!
Dude this guy lives in heaven!!! Epic view!!!
idaho or utah i’d imagine
I preferer more woods, but it is out in the country at least
just listening to him talk brings me back 10 years ago watching those magpul videos. god I watched those videos religiously
Love the action shots. You still got some moves old man
Love watching these videos, hate that i can never implement them where i live.
Keep it up!
Thanks
@Costa Ludus Scalarworks makes a great mount for the Benelli M2/M4, 870, and mossberg 500. I personally love running a red dot for bird hunting. All the same advantages a red dot gives to shooting targets on the move are reverent with a red dot on a shotgun.
Curious how the JK armament will stack up to the Phoenix weaponry can. Pros and cons to each.
I will buy a shotgun suppressor when they get the sound down like in No County For Old Men
Mini shells?
Subsonic loaded with #2 shot and wire pulling gel. Thank me later.
@@mr.joshuah1412
Wire pulling gel?
@@dchambers6731 cable pulling lubricant from home depot or hardware store. Used as a ablative medium in the silencer
@dchambers6731 Ssshhh just thank him later.
It would be cool if they would make a spacer for between the end cap and last baffle with a bead on it, or even a white dot on the chamfer of the first baffle
nice informative video
Thank you Charlie
Thanks brotha
Great overview. Great product from JK Armament!
Shotgun suppressors usually sucked and doesn't work as well as a rifle does.. This is the first one that I've seen actually work
That one they made so it won’t suck. They made the inside open and narrow down to keep the bullet wadding squeezed so it doesn’t hang up in the baffles.
@@SoundOfFreedom35lots of words to describe the trumpet design.
Great discussion! Some other thoughts... suppressing a 12 gauge when hunting birds would be beneficial for health of your dog. Also, if practical for CQB, it may be great for quick response shooting indoors. I'd love to see a review this mounted on a short barrel 12 gauge and used for shooting clays.
Love from Scotland 🏴
A shooting tripod with a hog saddle is a really nice way to zero a high recoil gun while standing.
Nicely presented! Very informative, very thorough! Lots of useful information!
After shot if not needed , just keep pump action open for a while. Heat 💨when the both end’s of barrel are open. Just like OB smg..
I like my Salvo-12, but if this would have been on market 6 years ago, I think I'd have chosen it over the Salvo. Great video! Just found your channel and subscribed.
I think it has more to do with that most of the time you see them on semi-auto shotguns
Same!
It's half the price or less of the salvo. Of course we would all buy this instead
Augh!! The smell of freedom
I'm interested to help my hearing while duck hunting. Would like to know more about the chokes and how that can be adjusted. I typically shoot a modified choke to a full choke depending on distances that the ducks will be at.
That is awesome. Do they make ported cans you can plug the gas vents on any of these for
shotguns?
I'd like to use shotguns more on our small homestead but not having a can for the 12 gauge and 410s we have kind of limit that use.
Gotta be land mines and traps every at the costa compound.
Cant wait to use one of these for turkey season!
No matter the shot gun can. I think the best sound reduction is going to come from light target loads. Magnum rounds I don’t want the extra weight. Have only used a Salvo though.
@@jordanhansen973 I had a chance to use on this turkey season and it worked great even with magnum loads. Lighter loads are a little quieter for sure but the suppressor dose a good job of tamming the heavier loads as well.
Would be cool on a serbu short barrel
Could the outside threads on the bald eagle adapter be used with a bear creek flash can?
Perfect Hunting Gun for so any Animal Species..
Just comparing this to any other suppressor that has threaded baffles...this configuration looks like 10 different pieces that the threads can work its way loose. What's stopping it from the baffles from backing out?
...have you tried putting shot like #9 or "b" in a couple stages of the baffles?
I'd love to see/hear that “muffler" (🖕🏼CZcams) running on a Beretta 1301 Tactical with it's crazy-fast action!
Darn! Doesn't look like two of them would fit on my wife's DP12. 😁
The Salvo-12 might work since its an offset bore like the Osprey
Nice, you also got a trx !
Yeah this a a great truck
I want two.😁
How you liking that TRX Chris? I'm at work building them right now, lol
It’s a muscle car that holds my guns. I love this truck
Will it work on a riffled barrel
Wonder about the lifespan of these
Im the type of person to buy a 250 dollar shotgun just to dump a supressor on it 😂🤘 now thats one fun setup. Subs are "affordable" too along with having control over the action. It should be movie quiet
It's absolutely ridiculous that it costs around 800 dollars, poor folks never get a break, who in the hell can afford a 6 inch piece of metal and it even costs more than the shotgun it's on SMH you have to be kidding me!
How about you save up and invest
沙发!😄
Does this suppressor have any ammo limitations? I.e no rifled slugs? Does this company make rifled-choke front caps? By chance does anybody know how the noise reduction compare to SilencerCo Salvo 12 in the 6” configuration
welp just got one.. VersaX + JK Bald Eagle Choke + Dickhead ATF Tax Stamp = $900 ...Let the waiting begin
Does it have to be run wet? If I’m hunting snow geese and need to fire hundreds of rounds in a day it sounds like it could be a pain to relube it in the field.
No, most cans are wet or dry. The new ones that can be pulled apart cans be Vaseline’s to make about 15 shots slightly more quiet than dry. The old cans you would take a cap of water pour it in the can and shake the can to get it in between the baffles.
whats your biggest complaint or issue with with suppressor?
No complaints aside from your going to want to mount it to a shorty shotgun do to the length it adds. It’s a cool piece to have if you have the money
Could you buy two. And combine some parts to make a bit longer.
You don't have to buy a second suppressor to do that, just additional baffles as they are not the serialized part that is considered the “suppressor". This is one reason modular suppressors are cool! 😎 👍🏻
@@online247365 so tell the ATF that rubber wipes aren’t suppressor parts. Because those are “illegal”
That would actually be illegal, if that bothers you
Don’t buy the short one. It reduces noise like reducing a 12 g to a 20 g sound.
Would this be good for a bear gun ?
Shotguns in general are with slugs
Most 1600 fps slugs which are usually 435 grains will do the trick
how does this compare to the salvo?
I haven’t had the experience on that one. I think being able to manipulate the baffles based on what you want is important. While I just barely want ear safe plus mobility some may want something quieter. So being able to change to the person I think is important
@@TheofficialCostaludus appreciate this information. I know the salvo was pretty good, but pretty proprietary in design. This looks pretty great.
I have a Salvo. You can configure it as well, using different length rods that Sico sells. It is fairly quiet. But it is LARGE BY HUGE. This one is very interesting
what is the deal with all the blurring in your video?
Yeah. It sure what my phone was doing
No country is the only reason why i want a 12 gauge can
WATCH the Demonstrated Concept's CZcams channel, You will get rid of Your shoulder stock and never look back
No country for old men. 👍
I’ve heard there not worth it there still very loud
I just wonder if a Company that makes one for my Judge Pistol., I hunt everything with a Rifle and that Pistol I run with 3.5” Slugs also the Judge I used strictly 410 caliber Slugs. Unless we are hunting Birds.
silencers on revolvers are useless
?!
Why not get a aa12. It fits ya ludus
Excellent optin. Tip: don't put the supressor on with your hand over the end of the barrel 😉 ... as you did in the video.. unless you've arranged to change your name to Captain Hook
Merci, je vie en France, snif...... La politique a sacrifier notre liberté de posséder des armes.
Good information but you make a video about shotgun suppressors and you only do a couple shots at the beginning of the video🤷♂️
Credibility gap:
We never put our hand over the muzzle to affix the suppressor. 👎
Why suppress a shotgun?! 🤣🤣🤣. A shotgun is supposed to be loud and violent action. This is marketing gimmickry.
I am impressed, Costa was able to hold a ‘straight face’ during the presentation 🤔🤣
Some of us want to preserve our hearing and not worsen any existing tinnitus.
Preserve hearing, reduce noise pollution, reduce recoil, many reasons.
