mysql-connector-java-5.1.23-bin.jar
and insert it in your library before you the data can be inputted.

i did everything that this guy showed but i still end up with just my gui showing and not displaying my database. i created my database through my sql the same with the video and did the code for connecting it. but it's not showing up when i run the program :(
just the gui itself but the table in my database isn't. please someone help! i have to pass this in two days or else i'll fail :(

Can someone explain to me the purpose of the User Class
The User class has no purpose other than to let other classes create User objects. In this video he makes a User object for each record that the result of the query brings. Then he puts those User objects into an ArrayList, and fills the JTable with the ArrayList

why you don't have to insert id?
because the id is "AUTO_INCREMENT". (The AUTO_INCREMENT attribute can be used to generate a unique identity for new rows) from mysql website
