I don't know if this is a rank video but Schiffer was THE superstar supermodel of the 90's, still makes a huge splash any time she shows up again and even got a few Barbies of her. The only one who had a close level of fame was Crawford. But outside of fashion people knew who the 2 are by name only worldwide which is a requirement to be a supermodel and most didn't fill.
I would almost agree but I would say Crawford would be #1 and Claudia would be maybe # 2
@@edgarrivas546 I lived that era and was old enough to remember the craziness. Crawford was already into a decade of modelling by the end of the 80's which saw the rise of Schiffer. As a model there's nobody else in history with as many accomplishments and money earned. The translation into today's money would put her far higher than Gisele, the last supermodel. And while Crawford was famous worldwide, Schiffer caused an unseen frenzy in models and was the most photographed woman on earth. The ad campaign for spring summer 95 she did for Valentino recreating eckbergs character in la dolce Vita literally shut down Rome, you might find vids and images of it, no other model put a city on hold much less a city like Rome.
@@makdle66u have a lot of knowledge, what was the thing with Naomi, Linda and Christy did they also matter or were they just pushed by the media for their darker features and what were the most popular male models??
@@achmadabdelazeezs521 I just lived the 90's as a teen, and yes, they were huge in the 90's even more than movie stars. I think it was a combination of things, including their personalities and the fact that save Schiffer and Turlington they were all scandalous with busy love lives, outrageous declarations and beautiful that propelled them to super stardom. Did they push them on people? I think so, like any other person in showbiz, they are hand picked, trained and groomed, and generarte grotesque amounts of money for whoever pushes them.

Cindy at 4:22 and Carmen Kass wasn’t thaaaatt popular for being on the list, if it was only 00s list she definitely would be there, she’s amazingggg 💗💗
