LOVEBITES - Glory to the World lyrics:
Everything around us will fall into dark
When you keep on looking into the sadness
Nobody in this world may ever be free
My hearts will shiver and I can't take deep breath
But rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light in this world
    Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
    Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings
A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow
A blur in the future, the fear of unknown
There will come a time where we can leave everything behind
Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky
Together we will make it through this deep night
    Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
    Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
And rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to a new world
    Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
    Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together,
    Nothing more precious

Basically Lovebites is a powermetal band. But they play many genre of heavy metal/hard rock. Every songs are great. But I recommend
    ・Swan Song-symphonic power metal
    ・Hammer Of Wrath-thrash metal
・Dancing With The Devil-blues hard rock
    ・Epilogue-blues ballad

They're not unique.... just Japanese. The female rock and metal talent in Japan has to be seen ( and heard!) to be believed. That said, Lovebites is certainly one of the jewels in the Imperial crown. The band first formed in 2016 out of the ashes of a former legendary all female metal band called Destrose. A former member of Destrose, the bass player Miho, wanted to start a band that played the sort of old school type of European metal from the 80s that she loved and recruited her old band mate, Haruna the drummer to join her. They needed a guitarist and Haruna was friends with a super talented guitarist called Midori who was at the time studying to be a pharmacist. Being a rock and roll goddess was presumably more appealing than a job in the pharmaceutical industry so Midori joined the band. Midori was supposed to be the only guitarist but another friend called Miyako helped out as a support musician. Miyako turned out to be such a next level musical genius, both on piano and guitar and as a song writer and composer, that the other girls begged her to join the band full time. She's the one with the Dean Flying V in the video. All that was then required was a singer and front woman. They lucked out with Asami who, on the face of it, seemed an odd choice having never before sung in a metal band. She was an R&B singer in fact but the other girls were blown away by her voice. Asami brought another talent to the table having trained as a ballet dancer and her wonderful, elegant theatricality onstage is part of the band's visual appeal. The sum of these five, extraordinarily gifted women is a world beating combination.
They made several decisions in their early practices together. One was their name. One day at practice they played an old Halestorm song called "Love Bites (and so do I)" because they thought it would suit Asami's vocals. They were so taken with the song that they named the band after it. Another early decision was to sing entirely in English; a language which, having spent some time in the USA, Asami was familiar with. They chose to sing in English partly as a homage to the old English and European metal bands they all loved and partly to broaden the appeal of their music to western audiences. The other decision was their choice of dress and the white dresses became their trademark. There were two reasons for this choice. One of these was as a juxtaposition to the usual metal image; elegantly dressed ladies in white as opposed to grungy, bearded men in black. The other reason was simply a matter of visibility. The band would make the world's worst basketball team since the tallest among them barely scrapes 5' 2" and it's all downhill from there to the drummer at a pixie standard 4' 9". Wearing white was simply a way to stand out on a darkened stage. The band adopted the wolf as their animalistic symbol and have thus become known in Japan as the "Wolves in White" or simply "The White Wolves". Their fan base calls itself "The Wolf Pack".
Since their inception the band has produced three full length albums, several EPs and a couple of recorded live shows. They've toured oversea in Europe and the UK but not, to the best of my knowledge, in the USA as yet. In 2018 they won "Best New Band" in the Metal Hammer awards. They've also played several large European festivals and supported Dragonforce on their UK tour. This is undoubtedly one of the best female metal bands on the planet and, their adoring fans would insist, one of the best of either gender. These ladies are the real thing and perhaps, once covid finally becomes a thing of the past, we will see them rise to the international recognition they most surely deserve.

@@HighlyCombustibleReacts Honestly...I DO barely listen to any other band, for many months! Before that I was obsessed with another female band, the hard rockers in Band-Maid. I guess I leaned over more to Lovebites, since I like metal more than hard rock. And I also listened to thrash, like Slayer and power metal like Helloween, back in the days. Lovebites do both styles...even better than the originals, from the 80s! ;) And they turn the old days upside down, by always dress in white, looking like princesses.
I bought everything they released, even vinyl records. Very expensive, but I just cant resist Lovebites glory! :D

You should check out 'Edge of thr World', 'Holy War', 'Break the Wall' and 'Shadowmaker; from the concert recorded at Zepp Diver City, Tokyo in 2020. The number of great bands in Japan is staggering, the level of virtuoso musicianship is ridiculously high and the number of kick-ass and bass-ass female rock musicians and all female and women-fronted hard rock and metal bands is unrivalled anywhere else in the world.

Thanks for experiencing LOVEBITES! The previously-conflicting styles of Metal and feminine beauty and gracefulness are brought together in harmony with an uplifting and encouraging positive message and virtuoso skills in composition and performance. They have created a genre that transcends previous Metal incarnations. I have always loved the power and technical demands of Metal, now with an esthetic and performance-style more appealing to my tastes. Two contrasting styles from Tokyo LIVE 2020 uploaded yesterday are
    (Power-Metal) "Rising": czcams.com/video/Y_jrhzzcuRU/video.html

Listen to ANYTHING from the official channel or from the live concerts at Zepp Diver City Tokyo 2019 and 2020, or the Studio Live “Awake Again from Abyss” performances. I highly recommend doing more of their stuff. In case you do, here's some background:
They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, but Midori has also been getting into the act, and Asami writes a lot of the lyrics.
They have only been around for a little over 4 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level.
This is one of their "starter" songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two shredders are very different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist-she only picked up guitar when she was 18.
They are amazing live. You should next check out “Holy War” live. More dual shred harmonies: czcams.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/video.html
You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

Love Lovebites. Japan has such amazing bands. Band Maid, Nemophila, and Lovebites are my favorite bands with Nightwish. Lovebites takes metal music, adds incredible songwriting, mucianship , beauty and grace, and just creates epic music. I’m American, live here in Philly area. I don’t speak Japanese, but music is universal. I love music, created from instruments, and voice. I don’t need to understand the lyrics. The music is what I feel. Many songs like: Lovebites Epilogue, Edge of the world; Band Maids Daydreaming, About us; Nemophilas Life; have me in tears with emotion. Very few songs do that.

LOVEBITES won metal hammer(UK) 2018 best new band and third album(electric pentagram) was selected as 20 metal albums in 2020. they can play about 50 songs and the representative songs are swan song, epilogue, all songs.

Welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. They really shine in their live performances, so I recommend songs from the concerts “Battle in the east”, “Wacken”, “Daughters of the dawn”, and especially “Five of a kind, Zepp Divercity, Tokyo 2020”.

All respect to Love Bites and the fans so please don't troll me for suggesting Band Maid just so this gentleman can get a taste of other female Japanese rock bands. I'll be the first to say Love Bites is the top of their genre. I love this particular song There are also, Aldious, Mary's Blood, Gacharic Spin, Doll's Box and a number of others along with Band Maid and I hope there are more Love Bites reactions.

OMG. It seems you’ve been Lovebitten (LOL)
The skills, talent and musicianship of these women are mind-blowing and they really shine in their live performances. I suggest songs from the concerts “Battle in the east”, “Wacken”, “Daughters of the dawn”, and especially “Five of a kind, Zepp Divercity, Tokyo 2020”; avoid “Bloodstuck” (bad audio). My song recommendations are: “Holy war”, “Swan song”, “Shadowmaker”, “Signs of deliverance”, “Break the wall”, “Hammer of wrath”, “Scream for me”, “Raise some hell”, “When destinies align”, and special mention to “Empty daydream”, “Dancing with the devil”, “Liar”, “Eagle fly free” (Helloween cover), “Epilogue” (this latter is highly recommended). All live if possible.
By the way, Midori and Miyako performed at the NAMM 2020 (separate).

Believe it or not, they are BETTER live! Anything from the "Five of a Kind" Zepp Diver City concert. As For "Glory," this a brand new song and better than ever. There is no live version yet, but we may get one from their upcoming Japan tour.
That said, this is such an awesomely uplifting song I need it to start every day, no kiddin'.

Try some live songs - Holy War, Edge of the World, Raise some hell, Epilogue, Thunder Vengeance - completely different types of metal from thrash to hard rock to powermetal to prog to a ballad and they slay every song! They're just as tight live as on studio. Well worth a deep, deep dive :-)

What most metal fans maybe don't realize is, that the "learning to love yourself" sentence is original from a song from George Benson, that was however really made famous by Whitney Houston :

Yeah, females rockin' is thing in Japan from beginning of the 80's. Lovebites and Band maid are the best, but there is a hole scene of female rock/metal bands. You should check Nemophila, Mary's Blood, Tricot, Show ya (they are from 80's, still rockin), Aldious, Gacharic spin, Dollsboxx, Bridear, Brats, Trident, Hagane...
