Forgive me for saying but this comes across a little paranoid at times... I mean you say people were staring but I didn't really see it. And I don't think that place was a 'creepy hood', it didn't come across at all like that to me. But I guess everyone has different perspectives.

Conos de maiz means corn cones. La Linea is actually a nice place. A bit economically challenged but the people are vibrant and generally welcoming.

In La Linea is a lot private host available apartments and rooms .
I did have one very nice apartment, not expensive. Just google it :))
