Psyclopean is a new cinematic dark ambient/atmospheric music project fronted by Matt Schmitz (Sleestak, Altrusian Grace Media) and produces instrumental interpretations of H.P. Lovecraft and his peers. Nathicana is the second album in 2018 and is inspired by the Lovecraft poem of the same name. Embracing the gothic themes of love and tragedy, Nathicana is a fever dream of unworldly sonic imagery, shadowed melodies, foreboding tension, and neo-classical overtones.

The “Nathicana” title was what pulled me in to give your channel a try- I’m a sucker for anything Lovecraftian, and I’m glad I came in and gave it a listen. Stop making me so excited that I MUST comment on all of these. Love it! It is more alive than a lot of the other dark ambient mixes I find, like on Cryo Chamber, and that is good! Because things should be wiggling in the night, and that requires a wide range of sound to convey. Cheers and keep it up!

Hey! This is really great, Matt. Fantastic cinematic and atmospheric sounds going on here. Just wonderful, really. Any plans for a physical release? BTW, and kinda funny, I've seen your band Sleestak play a few times 3-4 years ago and you even sent a CD to my old zine, Lunar Hypnosis. Small world, right?
Joe, right? Wow that's crazy, especially on YT. No plans for a physical release as I just don't have the time or money to pull it off. My only hope would be for a label like Cryo Chamber to pick me up and do it. And Sleestak is still going but no plans to do shows anymore. Anyways very cool we crossed paths!
