This is amazing!! I love the way you draw grians expressions in this. The guilt in double life and the way it transitions into this all-consuming grief at the very end. The transition of him reaching out to scar to him killing him is HORRIFYING. Genuinely it made me stare at the screen in SHOCK. the way you make Grian’s wings white in double life when they were red and and blue in third life is so interesting. I choose to interpret that as him losing the love and passion that brought him life in third life and both his ecpressions and wings mirror that. I love how you scars design stays the same in both worlds, showing that it’s really only GRIAN who changed in that time. The pulse of the heart getting faster as Grian realizes he’s scars soulmate is HEARTBREAKING. Love this!!

Dream Smp, schlatt has a goat as a mascot so when tubbo, another member, kinda teamed up with him for some lore everyone started giving him lil goat features like they were related or somethin
Schlatt already had a goat thing going on with his channel
I love how The Crane Wives have become the go-to band for the 3rd/last/double life series, their music fits so well with the plot, and I love how you connected the lyrics with the story and brought it to life!

they're actually goat horns referencing grian's first double life ep when he collected some goat horns (also why his wings are white)! Thought it'd be silly to throw it into my design of him for the series :DDD !!!!

The transititon from Grian reaching out to Scar to punching him in 3rd life rotates in my brain, it lives there rent free
I love this, the art and the whole thing is *chef's kiss*
The details in this are what make me insane about this. “Do you ever think of me and my two hands?” As his open, searching hand closes into a fist that delivers a killing blow. It really shows how reluctant and guilty the actions were. It shows the conflict in his actions. He didn’t want to hurt Scar but he HAD to, one of them had to go and Grian was the unlucky victor in a match to the death.
My other favorite detail is the soulmate line connecting to Grian’s green heart. You can see the grief and pain Grian’s going through from the erratic shaking of his soul line, his heart picking up the pace when he realizes that he has to lose Scar all over again, but it’s worse still. He can’t maintain distance when he’s literally bound to the one person he’s trying to separate from.
This is very well done and I find myself rewatching this quite a lot.
Grian really said “hell nah” and started trying to steal someone else’s man 💀
DOUBLE LIFE ANIMATIC FROM YOU. Fantastic to know that desert duo has infected your brain as much as they've infected mine. That punch from Grian transitioning from DL!Scar to 3L!Scar was SO good but it hurt SO much, hit right in my heart
Dude I don't even know any of the Double Life lore, but with all of the amazing art floating around about it (yours included), it makes me want to get caught up! This is honestly amazing, and even though I may not know any of the references in it, I still think you did a great job! I think ima go check out Double Life stuff now :>
There are only four eps so far and the pov's i reccomend are Grian's, Big B's, Cleo's and Etho's.
Grian is an easy pov to enjoy and he is very amusing parenting his soul mate lol.
Big B is underrated and is a fantastic actor along with Ren and Grian. He also has a cheating arc.
Cleo has a fantastic pov. Something huge happens every single episode.
Etho is in a healthy relationship and has a cute wholesome pov with his chaos and Joel's combined.
I am only watching Big B atm but I really love all of these creators.

I absolutely love the design you gave Grian with the horns and white wings-it’s something I didn’t expect, but I definitely needed to see it. Your art style is just so adorable, and I love the song used (The Crane Wives are my favorite)! You did an outstanding job with this video and I can’t stop watching it, thank you for blessing me with this.
I’m taking a moment to understand what was going on, I always thought of these series as wholesome, funny, but also filled with teensy bits of lore. It’s amazing to see a series like this be turned into something dark, and tragic. But overall, this is wonderful deary, :]

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ANAMATIC!!! I've been rewatching a lot of the life series and I never really thought about how Grian and Scar were teamed for 3rd life, then for double life as well, but they didn't win again in double life and they were forced to be together instead of choosing to be together and how even though they won 3rd life, Grian still was the one to kill Scar all those times, but now the man he killed shares his same life, it was brilliant how that was shown!

It really fits with a theory ive had in mind,, that Grian really does care about scar but after some event, possibly after 3rd life or maybe something happened in the past to do with the watchers? That after that he was scared that by being with scar he would get him hurt or even killed, therefore leading him to constantly worry about scar and wanting to team up with BigB instead as hes not as worried BigB will get hurt due to his own actions, just a intersting thought that i think ties into your amazing animation really well!!! :33

Honestly, Grian has a point. He does all of the work in these series (obviously it's all fun and games, they are friends, don't look to deep into it IRL), and has had enough being tied to someone who can't pull their weight. (Once again, not IRL, in game.) Hermitcraft Scar knows what he's doing, 3rd/last/double life Scar? Not so much, he basically just goofs off the entire time. Besides I'm biased I've been following Grian for like 5 years now lmao
