    Hi! This is how I changed front brake caliper seals and piston. I don't change all remont komplekt elements because others was original and in perfect condition. Doing this job don't forget always check brake fluid level, dont let it drain.
    P.S It is unnecessary to remove caliper from car just it is more comfortable and not hard. This is same job on most BMW - e30, e36, e34, e39, e46, z3...

    Best video I have seen so far for a caliper rebuild! Thanks for posting it.

    thanks so much for this. I just rebuilt dual piston calipers and the magic of hydraulic brake assembly fluid for rebuild was insanely convenient5. dust boots slipped over lubed piston and piston retracted into caliper housingly so easy!!! appreciate the vid. I've never seen calipers torn down, and now im a pro, using proper tools

    Any tips on pushing that piston out of the caliper without using the brake (I am refreshing a set of calipers but theyre not on the car) cheers! Great video too!

      Thank you! If you have use air compressor, give pressure with blow gun to brake line hole and piston will shoot out. If you dont have compressor take channel lock pliers grab on piston turn it back and forward and pull at the same time

    Now, the part you failed to show is taking off the brake line from the caliper. Did you lose a lot of fluid? it seems as if there was no fluid inside because, I saw only a few drops. One would expect it gushing out a little bit but, maybe you cut that part out? and where the confusion even got worse is when you put it back together and tighten the brake line back to the caliper and bled it, all of a sudden, the fluid came gushing out like it's supposed to. please need an answer. Keep the good work up though.

    • @Work_G
      @Work_G  Před 5 lety +6

      When brake line comes out from caliper do not expect lot of fluid, it will come up a llitle bit and then from brake line just drips little drops all time as you sow because brake pedal is not engaged and brake system not pressured. When I put plastic on end its stops drips because it creates closed system end, like caliper would. And from brake caliper fluid almost wount come out, 1:34 you can see there it was flipped and fluid didn't drip until cylinder was removed, because there was vacuum and by taking it it get air from top and then all what was inside of caliper ran out. This video is cut up a lot. I try to make it short that would not be boring. And bleeding took longer I just cut that part off. First few times it comes with air bubbles. Thank you :)

    great video mate! did you not need to clamp the brake line?

    • @Work_G
      @Work_G  Před 5 lety

      Thank you ! That plastic I put on end of line acts like clamping the line, it just safer because you wont damage rubber brake line. Its stops drips because it creates closed system end, like caliper would.

    Thanks for video! Can you advise me which brand rebuild kit is that? Because im checking with realoem catalogue and rebuild kit there contains only seals of piston, piston itself isn't included and no separate number for it. Thanks!

    My God, look at the muck on the top of the reservoir!! Best practice always is to thoroughly clean all around the cap even before unscrewing it. Plenty of other videos to show how the job should be done properly.

    Would this be the solution to a sticky brake caliper? Changed the fluid, pads, and rotors , still stuck .

    • @Work_G
      @Work_G  Před 4 lety

      Most likely this or it can be studs where caliper mounts and slides on caliper carrier and clean carrier where brake pads contacts

    what i red paste? is it coming with the kit o r i need to buy it apart??? thanks

    • @Work_G
      @Work_G  Před 4 lety

      That is special lube and usually it will be included if you will buy kit with cylinder, if you buy only rubbers kit you won't get oil. But you can buy only lube in car parts store.

    • @kawarider9049
      @kawarider9049 Před 3 lety

      @@Work_G But this red silicone paste is used to lube moving parts of caliper, not the piston and the rubber for piston sealing, that should be just “lubed” with brake fluid.

    • @Work_G
      @Work_G  Před 3 lety

      @@kawarider9049 Piston is lubed not for lubing purpose but for easy install, for smooth push in and wont cramp or push out of groove seals

      @@kawarider9049 I agree with you. 2:18 shows the grease below the seal which will contaminate the brake fluid. At least the bottom of the piston wasn't greased like I have seen others do!

    Show nothing of interest. The real issue with this job is how this pain in the ass rubber sleeve is done. No help at all in this video.
