That mirror/table is genius!
Haha was just going to say exactly this!
@@DanKeeley I've seen that many times in small apartment decor...but. I agree....it IS clever.
If you kept the left hand frame of the mirror attached to mirror and just had a backwards L shaped table leg, you could sit down and get up a lot more easily
It would be if you had space to sit down (and get up) when it is down...
when i saw that i was like wow he is a genius *mindblown*
Some brilliant ideas I’ve not seen before an I’ve watched many builds. Great job mate 👍
Love it! very simple and well thought out. I agree with minimizing the amount of holes cut in the body of the van.
Love the mirror/table!!
I think I’ll be doing our water fill up the same as you. I do it this way now for the tank in my pick up truck which feeds automatic fill up water bowls for the dogs. Works just fine. I do have a small cheap pump in it as well to wash of our dogs and my dirty boots but it doubles in case of emergency to fill the water tank. I can just take the tube out of the water tank and put into bottle of water then connect the pump outlet to the tank hose inlet and fill the tank. Simples and no holes!!
I love the simplicity and the fact that you have everything you need to go off grid- amazing stuff well done !
Amazing storage options and a brilliant van. Love it
I love the long mirror/ table. Most unique of all.😊
That is one very tidy van...... Great and well thought out layout and the minimalism makes it look very functional.
Amazing work fella
The mirror/table is genius
One of the best duel purpose van items I've seen
Thanks buddy!

That's really clever. I am tempted to make a clone for myself.
Genius, very practical, I like it
It is always good to see what works good for others. 👍
Love the van and the table is a fantastic idea well thought out
Excellent love the van, currently looking at the Peugeot Boxer.
Great conversion and workmanship!
Some very ingenious storage & set-up ideas here!
nice van and fitout. I like the idea of turning vertical surfaces into horizontal surfaces.
I love dropping mirror-table 💞👍👍
And long drawers.
Never keen on long drawers ;o)
Love this setup! So many new ideas for my build later this year
What van have U got ?
I love the waste system. Hopefully, I can afford to buy a big van. For now, I'll make myself comfortable with my tinie tiny van. Hehe
Minimal, practical and functional - the perfect combination. Some great ideas for me to think about with my build and future life in a van!
Love your van and tks for the detail, could you list some of the components you used shower tray, led lighting, electricsl system
Love the folding table
A brilliant peice of work
Mirror
Storage
And the space
Well done mate
Thanks for the video
Great video. Straight to the point and some nifty ideas. Especially love your mirror/table and your very long drawer that you can use as a bench. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Very inspiring dude. Lots of great ideas, some I've never seen before. Will definitely take inspiration for my own work van / camper van build
Thanks Louis!
Always great stuff Hugh, I’ve have been watching for a few years Ford custom days. Loads of good ideas
Thanks Mark!
I would love this. Just love it.
Superb, one of the best I’ve seen, loads of good ideas
Cheers Calvin!
Ahhhhhh the comment regarding the fake grass makes much more sense now on @petitevanrouge. 😂😂
I’m loving the boxer Hugh. I love your use of space and the little quirky things you’ve added. I’m sad that you sound a bit defensive on this video - your van your rules!! I’m sure you know that but in case anyone else is a bit stuck on that “HUGH’S VAN - HIS RULES!!”
Hey Lizzie sorry if I did sound defensive ha wasn't meaning to I guess I was just trying to pre answer peoples questions
Love this set-up
Hey Hugh. Beautiful van mate. The hard work has certainly paid off!! Question for Hugh and A.
Future destinations, what and where?
Now sites are opening again where are you planning on visiting.
Nice one chap, Olly.
Spending that much on the cooker heater but not having your shower and roof fan baffles me
Fair point, I changed my mind to the cooker/heater after fitting the roof vent but I do have a shower it just takes a bit longer than on demand plus I would rather have cooking and heating than full on demand shower system
Hugh agree!!! when you have solar showers .. what’s the point? ( wash your main bits). Lol.
Where's the loo? Did I miss the loo?
I guess it's a matter of priorities, what doesn't exist isn't a concern...
I did the same thing with my shower my outdoor shower will fill a tank which is insulated then I can close the back doors and that tank will stay hot for well over a hour. So I can shower in side with the back doors closed, I did it this way to have two sowers one inside and one out side for the dog. So it just works like a thermos flask with a little pump that pull out the hot water.
Good job got some good tips , thanks for sharing
Charming and clever design👌
Really nicely done 👍 Great work!
Best smaller van for a fellow 6ft2 man? I don't mind crouching but I will fit a pop top. Cheers 👍
That's a very neat and useful floor plan👍👍👍
I always like the innovative approach on your vans..
Cheers John
Nice one, great layout.
Awesome van Hugh beautiful and practical best of both worlds thankyou for all your videos and diy ideas amazing even a 56 yr old Aussie chick with a converted delica can have a go cheers x
Thanks Beverley
Brilliant conversion love it !
Love this build
Busy planning my next van, hope you don't mind! I am steeling good ideas. Those long drawers of yours are brilliant, I'm having a slice of those. Like your van it's not over the top its practical, hot water at back great, steam outside not inside. Thanks for letting us see your van it's a credit to you
Cheers Michael!
Nice conversion ,some great ideas like it
Great build, very clever dining table solution, I love it!
Thanks!
Amazing van.👍
I love this (and your other vids) so much, you’ve given me so much confidence with starting my own fiat ducato project! Just wondering what you covered the bulk head with, is it just auto carpet? Thinking that would be much easier than cladding..thanks for your help so far, keep doing what ya doing 🙌
Thanks Miranda, yes it was just automotive carpet and spray adhesive. Much quicker and lighter than cladding
Really nice & lots of room.
What excellent use of space and some great money saving ideas
Simple yet practical
Great simple design. Really liked it. Thanks
Thank you for sharing your ideas and practical knowledge, very impressed. Campervans are mini des res. Hope you are enjoying your journey on the open road.
Wicked Hugh, love the build & layout, I would probably look for a way to have hot water on demand in the shower & sink, but apart from that, mate you rock. Love your videos and your laid back style. The diesel cooker/heater is a game changer and worth the investment.
Cheers Danny!
I like the idea of the door in the bulkhead - I might pinch that one.
Sorry for my english i'm french....so,
i like +++++ the passage drive/home it's very ingenious same table....congratulations futur french vanlifter
Thank you very much!
Excellent use of space, lovely conversion, Atb Dave
Cheers Dave!
Great walk through
Love it.....innovative
Nice set up, it’s 5x the size of mine 😀 I’m planning a conversion on a citron Berlingo it’s hard fitting everything in but I think I have it worked out now, time to buy materials so I can build this weekend.
Whatever you think it will cost = double it. If you think you can do it in a month = X3 :) Best of all have fun!
I loved my Berlingo. Great little vans👍
tonytca I think your right, my circular saw packed up now I’m hunting for a good deal on a new one. I have made the design more complicated then necessary to take advantage of extra space under the flood as it was a disabled conversation when I got it and I have hardly done anything yet 🤣
lockdown fever did you convert it to a campaign yourself? Any tips welcome 😀
One of the cozy finish tiny home on wheels that exist in YT. Love the layout! 👌👌
I think the bulkhead is a nice idea, but I'd move the shower to be next to it and open up the back.

See how much space and light it has.
Thanks so much!
Perfecta!!
Hello. New subscriber 👍 your van build has given me some great ideas. Thank you. It looks like it all works well together 👍
Thanks for being a sub!
Verry good job!!!
👏
Well done....nice build.
The mirror table is genius yet so simple.
Hope you've been putting the van to good use since finishing it.
👏 👍
SO many innovative, multi purpose pieces in your build!
Nice Job on a well thought out van. Those Wallas hobs are great - I have one in mine and wouldn't be without it now!
Yeah although overpriced I really did like it a lot, simple installation and reliable!
Can you stay warm In the Winter? How many square meter does it heat up? 🦋
Sick man
Wow Hugh thats a brilliant build I've been looking at either a renualt traffic or vivaro but after seeing the boxer I'm now a bit open to one. Will have to research the engines as not one im familiar with in regards to reliability. A fixed bed and shower area are top on my list plus loads of storage 👌 I can do my build mostly myself but electrics are not my strong point. ( wouldn't think so if you see my channel as its all health and beauty 🤣) but will be filming my build and adventures when I get that far. Thanks for this video x
Good luck with your build Lindz! It will be a great learning curve but so much fun and so satisfying
Best conversion...your intelligence is appreciable .
Cheers Dwayne!
Great video Hugh, I've also got a shower/wet room in my van. I'd love to see a review on your decathlon shower if you fancy doing one. How long does a shower last, how much water does it hold, does it need pumping up halfway through a shower, that sort of thing.

Awesome set up
I love the mirror table. I'm definitely stealing that idea!
Great job and straight forward set up with some fantastic ideas built in - mirror table, cooker combined with heater, top storage ideas to name just a few! Here’s just a little thought, you could plumb your shower from the back up to also use in your shower set up inside for the best of both worlds, it looks like it could be fairly easy to do too. 😎👍
The hot water system needs to be used outside as it vents a lot of heat and dangerous gases
HughTube understood, shame though, wonder if there’s a way..... 😎👍
The mirror is awesome
I put 2 x105h batteries below the front seat and on the left side bulkhead (on the living quarters side), i put a reasonably flat wall electrical panel containing a 30A solar charge controller, a main switch supplying the fuse box, 2 x watt meters (in from solar/out to fuse box) & and I put a 340watt solar panel on the roof. I placed the fuse box behind the driver seat against the bulkhead (cab side), then ran the wires to the back from there.....that electrical box is taking up lot of floor space.
True and your setup sounds cool but we use ours as a seat
Hi! I really like that you are not using Dodge Promaster/Fiat Ducato or a Sprinter as a base of your van. I prefer your approach regarding being practical and cost efficient. I did not like the stove, because it goes against cost efficiency, but it's your van. :) But I loved all the simple and practical details: The Ikea shelves, the long drawers, the simple and clean water system, etc.
Enjoy your van, I hope you can return from hibernation mode soon. Stay healthy, cheers from Hungary!
Thanks so much!
your van is awesome...
Top job
Hey Hugh, awesome vid. Thanks. I just bought a boxer men to do the same so great to find this. A favour to ask - any chance of posting a link to the captain seats please??
nice job hugh
I am looking to build a van myself love the layout of your van gives a great idea for me to
Use the only thing I would do is try and get some kind of toilet system but loved the ideas this video has proper inspired me to build one and the water system is an excellent idea saves on making holes in the van I know you think it’s not tidy but I think it’s genius
Thanks Michael
Thx for sharing
Another great video! I love the look of the front seats, were they difficult to fit to the frames and which
vehicle did they come from?
I think , but could be wrong, they were from a ford galaxy. I had to machine up some steel plates to act as midway brackets but they were literally a thick steel bar I drilled and tapped and they work great!
very very nice !!!!
Nice video and van. Creative and imaginative ideas.
thanks matey
You are BRILLIANT.......
Have you got a video on how you set these electrics up, if not could you go into details of what they are, I don’t need to use much electric and that setup looks like it would work
Hi Ryan, it is about time I do another electrics video and I want to really get some good detail in there
nice one fella
I just layed out a plan on paint and my layout is the exact same as this lol, wonder how much it ended up costing?!
Awesome, I'm 6"2 and am considering whether to go H2 or H3 for the height of the van, I reckon I could go with either
im also 6'2" and with 25mm PIR board in roof and floor i can just about stand in the h2
I love it ,specially the opening from cab to the main van.
Hugh & A Question - Have you ever considered doing a VW? I would love to see you do an inventive LWB Transporter conversion!
The problem with VW Transporters are that they are expensive, unreliable, cramped and go rusty.
A good alternate is the smallest Boxer variant (the SWB low roof version) which is about the same exterior size but a nice big square space inside.
Glad you've finally got it done, 2 things I'd add is, toilet and shouldn't the gas cylinder be in an enclosed compartment? Just watched Greg virgoe video on gas and he said the regulations are for a sealed enclosure? I've got that ctek controller but didn't get a remote Bluetooth display can you buy that separate? Mirror/table is great!
Hey Malcolm, we have one of those portable toilets it wasn't in the van when filming but they're great. I think you may be right about the gas.
The bluetooth module isn't a display but links to an app on your phone and yes you can get it separate its called CTEK battery sense
GREAT job... )))
Good to see u buddy ;)
Hello matey how have you been?
Its only a 15mm hole to fill up from under the van with standard hose connector on copper pipe. Plus an overflow that's how I did mine. Got the same propane water heater installed it side of shower cubicle under kitchen cupboard and pokes out of worktop fully piped in to sink and shower. That tiny little camping gas you got will probably last for 2 quick showers:)
Aren't those water heaters only meant to be used outside? Is yours vented?
@@HughTube it's best too but the label on the front says use in a well ventilated room. Well that's easy just open the roof vent and turn the fan on. The gas used is little more than running 2 gas rings plus a gas oven if you had one and they vent into the van. It's also on for just a few minutes for a shower and your co detector will warn of it's getting unsafe. Years ago caravans used unvented gas fires that were left on all night! And no one had co detectors back then. Need to use some common sense and have plenty of air.
Nice!
You need a durable carpet bro,And beware of termites too😉
