Moya duets with the Pogues' Shane McGowan with an emotional song written by Michael Kamen. - Hudba
Every drop of my Irish blood ran right through my body listening to this. These songs, instrumentals, words and voices are so precious. The levels of Clannad's purity. The rough of Shane Mc Gowan's voice. All just one perfect gift.
I've been tou guidore you can understand where they got their haunting music from beautiful.
Shane you are sadly missed.RIP. 🏴
Shane writes all these songs that he duets with great artist., Moira Brennan, Sinead O Connor the late Kirsty MacColl and the rest. His voice compliments all the others.. its the rough with the soft vocals.. The man is a legend and brillant on stage . I just love Shane
He never wrote this song.
Yes same love Shane 😊
Shane is like the phantom of the opera, A tortured beautiful soul. The world looks at him and see's hidious teeth or drunken behaviour but the simple beauty of his soul is so charismatic. The price of genius is mental anguish. Lonely solitude and not being understood. The reason that he can write such truthful heartfelt lirics is because he feels and see's what most people miss. God Bless you Shane. You are one of irelands greatest men.
Wundervoll geschrieben ❤
So true a genius a beautiful soul.
Totally agree with you.
The concepts that Shane MacGowan and the men like him present are ideas embraced by many of us who have been broken down by the reality of our convictions. I am a soldier, my father was a soldier, his father was a soldier, we are Americans who came from Ireland. It was always taught around our house that the heart of a man should be steeled by whiskey and his mind sharpened by his convictions. Thats how Shane wrote his music. Listen to the words and you will see old Irish.
Rest In Peace, The Irish Rover....🙏 (11-30-23)
He didn't write this song
@@SpiritusMundi4EVERhe was a genius and I love Shane but he wasn't a free man he was trapped by addiction and lost and was dead by 1990 writing wise and singing wise
Dis song always blew me away, no one can sing it like these two amazing singers, rest in peace Shane, x ❤😢
Imelda May and Declan O Rourke did a fabulous version at the funeral of Shane Mc Gowan. Offcourse not forgetting the beautiful music of Liam O.Maonali.Just beautiful. Its on CZcams if you haven't heard it.☘
Jane Friel i am entitled 2 choose what I like and who I like singing and dats my choice, if I like Maya and Shane singing, it's the original, and no one can beat the original,!
So beautiful !!! These two amazing voices just Perfect together ! Irish Talent ✨✨
Rest in Peace Shame .. You bring Magic and Beauty to this 🌎 world.
Of all the songs I have heard each sing separately, nothing compares to this pairing of two magnificient singers. Moya's voice defies description...and Shane's is unparalled, thru the ages.
Simply heartbreaking in it's beauty..together they are truly 'The One!'
this is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard
This is still one of the most beautiful songs ever sung...Shane may not be 'beautiful' in looks, but he sings beautifully...and Moya...what can be said that hasn't already...she's a fantastic singer and lovely, as well. They're the greatest.
I never get tired listening to this song I love it so much I have decided I'm having it played at my funeral as they are bringing me and my coffin into the church 😂
I think still better for your next mariage! :-/
Sang at Shanes..❤
“Think about you as the tune
Think about you as the Moon “
🌿💚🇨🇮🌿
Brings a tear to your eye doesn't it?
Stunning display of Irish culture encased in the most beautiful, angelic voice
The one...
No truer words spoken regarding Maire. Had the pleasure of meeting her many years ago at her Dad's pub (Leo's Tavern).
@@davidray1596 Wow - still a dream of mine! Greetings and best wishes from Berlin, Germany!
I just love his voice at 3:16...it makes me have goosebumps all over. He's such an amazing musician and his voice is just...fantastic! So raw, rough, earthy and growling, and matches so well with Moya's beautiful crystal clear voice!
Mein Gott wie wunderschön💞. Die Stimmen voll gut. Ein song 🎉der zu Herzen geht. Danke Shane MacGowan. Was für Künstler MEGA❤❤🥀🥀💞
Shane is da man! He's a legend who doesn't act too big for his britches, which is rare nowadays. Love this song!
Yes I Agree, She has the Most "I Wanna move back to Ireland Voice" Beautiful.
i always come back to this song !
This is still one of the most beautiful songs ever sung, by two all time greats. Wish people could get past the way Shane's teeth used to be. Don't look at him if it is upsetting...just listen to the music. Moya is beautiful beyond description...her voice like an angel...she and Shane are just the best together.
RIP......Shane Mc Gowan
i never get tired of listening to this beautiful song, if i ever get married i'm dancing to this song first!
A beautiful Duet between Moya & Shane a classic and also timeless. Sad to think Shane has passed.. You looked so beautiful in that video Moya... 😢

Lovely, an old flame comes to mind, and magic days, still in love with you Jenny 💔
Shane may be the greatest songwriter ever. He can do it all.
Sixteen years ago my wife and I had our first dance as a married couple to this song. What a beautiful tribute to life this song is. As my daughter and I dance today to this song the circle seems more complete than ever.
❤...such a beautiful song with such great voices...❤
And now, this big man is dead. Im sad, love his music so much
Moya Brennan is a national treasure!
I love this song and love this movie.
Beautiful and great song. Emphasising the importance of one's soulmate. I first heard it as the credits for the Nephew rolled. Never forgot it.
I can listen to this song every day. Moya has an angel voice❣
So much heart in her voice 💜
love this one. stuck in my head since the movie a few years ago. perfect wedding video song.
beautiful song by two terrific singers....and from a fantastic film which I can watch over and over...
Absolutely!!!!!!
awesome, awesome, awesome. There will never be a more beautiful song, sung by anyone, anywhere. These two giants just nail the words, the emotions, and are in perfect sync. Heartbreakingly lovely.
I love The Pogues and Shane MacGowan!! I have been searching for this video forever! Thank You!!
RIP Shane... 😭
I got goosebumps listening to this song. Liking all genres of music I could put this on a playlist of romance or wedding songs. Beautiful Shane! RIP
You fill my sweetest dreams
You fill my sleep
You fill my heart with love
You make my life complete
When all is said and done
Darling, I know you're the one
Lying in my lonely bed
Thought about you as the moon
Listening to the sad songs down below
Thought about you as the tune
Wish that I could let you know
I think about you as the sun
So you're everywhere I go
My darling, I know you're the one
The one I long to see
To drown myself in you
Surround myself safe in your arms
Forever
Darling, I know you're the one
Funny how the circle turns
Funny how the flame still burns
Now that all is said and done
Darling, I know you're the one
Wherever you go
I'll always know
Darling I know you're the one
You're the one
Darling, I know you're the one
Shane is perfection. Moya is beautiful. Just hits nail on head for anyone who's ever lived a real life
I LOVE THIS!!!! Brilliant!!! Would be good to hear Moya sing this sort of stuff again :) I think it'd be brilliant :)
My wedding first dance song 6 years ago my husband and myself just loved it when it came out many years ago it’s so beautiful RIP Shane ☘️🇮🇪
Our wedding song from 25 years ago. Absolutely beautiful.
The Pride of Donegal beautiful voice. My Dad Manus God rest him was in school with her uncles. One was the class below him and the other the other was the class above him. On Dec 9th he would have been 78. RIP Shane McGowan.
saw this film the other week. and when this song came on...i remembered it. shane macgowan. love this film and the song just ends it off with perfection. only shane macgowan. love him
So very beautiful, such magnificence.
Two splendid singers ❤
Watched this movie last night - cried when they played this - had never heard it before - now searching for the soundtrack - it is just awesome.
Outstanding. The song touches my heart. Both voices are great!
Legends. RIP Shane MacGowan 💚🍀🥲
Shane has sung with so many of my favourite singers. Gives a sort of Beauty and the Beast feel to the songs - very sweet lol! Máire looks great.
this song is brilliant
I listen to this from time to time. It never fails to move me/
Beauty and the Beast! I love it! :) Màire has that easily identifiable "Clannad" voice and Shane...well...he has a magic all of his own. I really like Shane MacGowan - I think he is a most underrated genius!
Ruiseart Alcorn.
Sing with the Angels now Shane, and say a big Hello to my Mum and Sister who I lost this summer, I miss yous both- I hope yous are all together, we saw you in 1986 In New York at the Ritz Ballroom, you can rest easy now Lad.
😊❤
I love this song. Some aspects of Shanes life seem so sad...but he has one of the most memorable voices ever, no matter what he sings. This is a perfect pairing with Maire Brennan! Could listen to it every day. Still, it makes me feel sad for Shane. I hope he's doing well. Circle of Friends was good movie also, with Minnie Driver.
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. These two bring out the absolute best in each other....I get chlls every time I hear Shane say "You're the One"
then 'The One". They're unbeatable.
I first heard this while watching Circle with my girl. I loved her then and tho she's not with me any longer, I still love her! With my last breathe I'll whisper her name!
Darling I know you're the One ( song). I'm amazed at my true love for this song . To my next comment in another 5 yrs lol .
Incredible 💚💚💚
🌹🙏Shane🙏🌹
i fell in love with this song when i heard as credits rolled for circle of friends and it endear the movie even more ...his voice is unique and the marriage of their voice is beautiful..i get tears in my eyes everytime, and if i ever get married that's my opening song or maybe i would sing it myself to my true love!!!
Have a listen to Sinead O’Connor singing this song at Shane McGowan’s 60th birthday 😢❤
Excellent 👌🌹👌 🇮🇪🌹🇮🇪🙏✨🙏
co-written with Michael Kamen I think you mean. there can be no enemies listening to this song. he enters the soul of a mystic here
this is my favorite song ever, i get shivers just listening to it, especially when shane starts singing, his voice is so unique so groovy grrr, its a beautiful love song, that plus i really connected with the film" circle of friends" i would love to sing this song to the person who captures my heart!
despite this being very sad it is sung with much feeling and pure warmth.
always thought sinead o connor sang this! they sound so similar! in love with this song! absolutaly lovely....
Just a fantastic piece of artistry, the rough and masculine blending into the soft and feminine. The image of a melancholic dream, and way to good for such an average movie.
One for the Ages. Ireland's two finest together at last. That's how I've always seen it.
Also the movie, for depicting an era when Eire was still a charming, picturesque, albeit impoverished, superstitious rural backwater from which the young and ambitious had to flee. I'll always be grateful to it for giving it's star, Minnie Driver, her big break in Hollywood, which otherwise would never have given an unconventional beauty like her the time of day.
I love Shane McGowan. Didn't even bother to get up from his chair in the retirement home for the video! That's rock and roll!
we love to have this played at my funeral with my wife mime it while sm who know d song sing alone with wet eyes... it's on replay while am still alive now. till then, let's see how it goes. thumbs up Michael Kamen
Moya is the sweetest and more talented person i have ever known
Simply ADORE her
wonderful....... thank you for this
This is such a beautiful song...I watched the movie and it left me with a whisper of love touching my heart
@Arelexian What a lovely way to express it!!! I'm an American of mostly Scottish descent with lesser amounts of Cornish, English & Welsh. Don't know much about them on my dad's side but know all my Scottish ancestors (my mom's people) going a long ways back. Of all the mutts in the melting pot, only my Scottish ancestors passed down the memories & culture & the love of the motherland. The Gaels have always fiercely & tenaciously clung to their Heritage & my life is the better for it!!!
Ohh this is sooo beautiful I actually watched the movie Circle Of Friends and as usual had tears in my eyes....then this song was came on and oh I just melted....
so so so beautiful!!!!
Thanks for uploading this!
I didn't remember it from Circle of Friends - but fell in love with this song after hearing it (apparently again) at the end of the sleeper hit movie, "The Nephew." With Sinéad Cusack, Hill Harper, Pierce Brosnan (he was also one of the producers) & Donal McCann. I think it may have been his final movie?...anyway, a sweet little film, well worth a viewing.
Oh Shane!.... .:-D unbelievable!
love it!!
Beautiful
this tears me up every time
Enjoyed the movie, love this song.
Love the song and movie, brilliant! I had the book too but left it on a train, so never managed to finish it. but beautiful song.
We need a song like this to win the Eurovisoin agian, .. Bringit back
Love it.........so irish
... Super Song !!! ...
Maire you sing as well as ever. You might remember me from the past. We were in the Ursuline together and had the same music teacher. I have been teaching piano all my life and now I am composing music. My name was Mary Conlon!
a great song.
Hey Judie67!
You still got the chance to be the one!
Forever...
beautiful song.....
The fact it's NOT a perfect match is the only thing that saves this song. Artists that don't blend usually make the best duets. It's extreme contrast, makes the music world so much less boring. Nothing in music should ever be perfect, perfect has no heart.
Majestic..............
Thank you for posting this!! I have never seen the video! This is my favorite movie & I have always loved the song!!
