    For blossom end rot try tums or rolaids in the soil around the base of the plant. They usually need extra calcium. For the aphids if they are only on one plant, then that plant has health issues. You could get rid of that plant or try a light soap solution sprayed on. Leave for 20-30 minutes then spray off leaves thoroughly with plain water. Spray the soil around the plant too. Make sure to rinse it off or plant will die. You are so fun to watch. I am a bedding plant grower for Moose Lake Farmer's Market in Minnesota. Zone 3a-b. Thank you for youtube-ing!!!!

    Your gardens are the AWESOME SAUCE!! 🎉 I love it all! 😍 We have the pig weed too here in Northeastern Pennsylvania zone 6b. I use cardboard boxes for weed block on the pathways and I use triple layered, non-glossy newspapers with edges overlapping all around plantings. I put grass clippings over the cardboard & newspapers...and wet it down with a hose. When it dries it stays in place pretty well. It all breaks down into the soil over the growing season. My husband collects the grass clippings with a sweeper/bag attachment behind the lawn tractor. We let it age for a week or so ...so it's not going to harm plants with being too hot as it cures. It looks SO beautiful in the vegetable garden! 😍 It's not necessary but I feel less stressed about the weeds taking over and it really works. It keeps the weeds away for the season. Maybe you could test it out in a section next year to see if you think it is worthwhile? OR have your kids do it at the beginning of the season and tell them they won't need to keep doing it like they usually do. 😎
    In any case, thank you very much for your videos and your bubbly vibes. Me likey very much! 😛🥰🌺🦋👏👏👏👏👏👏

Apparently you can test the fruits by licking them before cooking or eating, if they taste bitter, don’t use them!

    Hi Nicole,
    Always enjoy watching your flower you give very good information, Yes aphids are the worst I had them in my plant room in the winter. I mixed everything that I could Neem Oil, Dawn, Nothing killed them all. I grow flowers for my yard so I don't have to buy them at the garden center. I grew Snapdragons, petunias, marigolds, zinnias, and dahlias . Yes everything this year for me too seem to be smaller my tomatoes and peppers too. I have grown Giant Marigolds a few of them are two feet tall. My sunflowers were new kinds I never grew they seem to be growing slowly. But in a week when I planted them in the grown they doubled in size. This year to me seems to be colder at night. Im in OHIO zone 6.

    Cucumbers are one of my loves too. Cucumber salad, cucumbers taking the place of lettuce in BLT's, California Roll cucumber salad is really good too, especially with a squirt of the spicy sauce (mayo & siracha). I've only had 2 cherry tomatoes (Sweet Aperitif) so far this year. So worth the wait. Would have been sooner but the stupid hail storms took out a lot of my plants and seedlings. Cannot wait for tomato sandwiches with a big, juicy, warm from the sun, slices of tomatoes. Yum!

  • @UnderAPileOfScrap
    @UnderAPileOfScrap Před 2 lety

    Your Snapdragons probably don't require the netting because it looks like they are quite a bit out in the open, so they can get equal amounts of sun throughout the entire day. Lucky you... if you don't need it, don't use it. They look spectacular and I'm jealous! My teeny weeny small space garden got a really late start this year because the hubby was trying to make it a raised bed for me, but there were some delays. I'm still hopeful of planting a couple things right now in pots.

I bought First Lady (Mixed Colors) Snapdragon seeds and was highly disappointed with them (I will never tell them that, I do love them to bits) because they grew very small (10 inches was my longest stem with them averaging ~7 inches) and I have to watch them like a hawk in the July, Texas heat (Zone 9a). Do you have any recommendations for variety/seed for me to grown in my hot, Texas 9a zone? I have not tried Johnny's Snapdragon seed but would be willing to try anything to get blooms your size for my bouquets! Any advice is appreciated (I do watery my snapdragons regularly)

    Why are the sunflowers two feet short? Do you know? I've noticed some oddities in my garden here in Georgia as well.

      I think it's just weather related. We've had very little rain and drastic swings in temperatures. Very hot and then very cold.

    I do not think the aphid hits are a matter of luck. Many aphids are specific to plants and even varieties. I am sure you know this but many people think they are a general infestation.❤️

    • @FlowerHillFarm
      @FlowerHillFarm  Před 2 lety +1

      I just mean the aphids have not spread to the other identical plants right next to the infested one. There are 8 and the bugs are only on the one. To me that's lucky! Most of the aphids in my garden this year are on the weeds (lambs quarter).

      Hi! I'm not the one shipping, but yes- the supplier is a small business and doesn't have the capabilities to ship international at this time. So sorry! I know Canada has wonderful bulb suppliers!

    I'm sorry for my confusion but I have a question about the tulip order. On the form it shows shows a picture of a flower and asks for our name. Does the collection come with a mix of each of the varieties or do we only have an option for a certain quantity of just 1 type? Could we get a mix of all of them?

    • @FlowerHillFarm

    Question: why don’t you lay weed mat and peg it down between rows? Some rows look a great size for it? I hate weeding and my goal this year (it’s winter in Australia at present) is to lay as much weed mat down as possible 😄

    • @cynthiafisher9907
      @cynthiafisher9907 Před 2 lety

      It works great, but if you leave it down for more than one year at a time, dirt blows onto it and weed seeds and they grow down through. Weeds also grow up through if it stays in place for a while. It’s a blessing and a curse!

    • @glenelkenfarm5577
      @glenelkenfarm5577 Před 2 lety

      I would assume when the beds are finished with at the end of the season all row and weed mat would be removed to till and add compost and things? I have a runner type grass and am hoping dearly the weed mat in the centre helps 😳

    • @cynthiafisher9907
      @cynthiafisher9907 Před 2 lety

      @@glenelkenfarm5577 I have that type of grass too. It’s the worst! Yes, the weed fabric helps, but I would recommend taking it up for the winter and then amending and tilling before you put it back down. Living Traditions Homestead has a lot of videos about it.

    • @FlowerHillFarm
      @FlowerHillFarm  Před 2 lety +1

      It’s not a bad idea. I have a LOT of space to cover and it would be expensive for the fabric. (I have THIRTY 100 foot rows total). The plan is always to mow between the rows but I always fall behind!

    Jesus Christ is the son of God who died and rose three days later and loves all of you. He died for everyone and wants you with Him, to know Him and live for His glory. Come be saved eternally and spend time with Him to know Him. Be saved, free, forgiven, healed, delivered, baptized, whole and let Him show you how He is everything you need.
    🕊️💕Live righteous and Holy because He said to and paid for our way to live like Him. Ask anything in His name and the Father will do it amen hallelujah praise God thank you Jesus . 🙏
    I lift up everyone's prayers, wants and needs to You Jesus, please pour out blessings. May Your favor, grace and mercy be upon the world. In Jesus name come help us all. You know our needs and everything else about each of us. In Jesus name amen thank you Jesus praise God 🙏
    Jesus, Help people to be rooted and grounded in Your love and to obey Your truth. That they are living in the truth being taught by You. That they know Your voice and word. Knowing truth from errors, discernment. 💕
    We are ambassadors of Christ. We represent God, when we are seen Jesus should be seen, His ways not ours. We should be living for and showing God, living for His glory. We are to be an example of Jesus for the world to see Him and want to know Him and know Him more. 🙏 🔥
    2 Chronicles 7:14 says, if My people humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways I will hear them from heaven and heal their land. 🙏 💖
    People need to turn from their wicked ways, Jesus paid for it. That's God stating it in that verse and there are more verses. People need to repent, to be cleansed by His blood and live Holy because He's Holy and righteous because He's righteous. Our God said to stop sinning in many many scriptures and He paid for everyone to be cleansed of sin (Isaiah 53), and to live how He said. He dwells in the Holy temple (your body) and said not to defile the temple. He said to defile the temple is death. He's always serious about everything He said to do. He's just as serious about what He said not to do. We live in obedience to His law, every word if it! He dwells within us all to be with and lead us in His ways. 💕🙏
    Deuteronomy 28 there are blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. The whole chapter, and verse 46 is one example of generational curses. These go into the following generations, the 3 and 4th. Our children pay the price for our sin. Stop sinning you are sending consequences to yourself and to your loved ones, children. By God's law you are. If you don't believe me ask Him, in Jesus name may you see and know the truth in it's fullness.
    Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
    He's worthy of everything He said and paid for, so I implore you to do as God said.
    Jesus said If you love me you will obey my commands. Love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. 💖🔥🕊️🙏
    Praise God 🕊️🔥 Hallelujah Jesus🙏💖
    InJesus powerful name🙏🔥🕊️ 💖
