The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. i was hospitalized for a eating disorder for 2 months and a half due to my bulimia and jordan was really the only person who did this right. people with eating disorders struggle with body dysmorphia and intense self hatred and bullying them or insulting them is only going to make things way way worse, i enjoy how jordan approached this situation with the empathy and understanding of what a eating disorder acrually is.

I absolutely love how the first guy handled the situation, he wasn’t rude at all, he didn’t confront the girls and straight out tell them they shouldn’t do it he just gave them fax and made it their decision because at that age they are old enough to make their own decision, however they do require guidance from adults who know what they’re talking about and this guy definitely knew exactly what he was talking about, these girls are really lucky that this was acting but even if it wasn’t they would’ve been in good hands with this guy, and I really love how when he went about sitting down with them he was really respectful about it and asked if they wouldn’t mind if he sat down and I love how he wasn’t creepy about saying that they were pretty girls who are genuinely saying that their bodies were fine the way they were and how they were was OK with the way they were and he wasn’t doing it to be creepy in anyway and I really like how he went about it was really good for a second there I thought he was a actor

People with eating disorders don't announce it though. They try to hide it. I have a friend who was bulimic from 18/19 until her late 30s. Very few people knew about it, it was nothing but mental anguish for her and for those of us who knew, and she was embarassed by it. No one promotes it as a great way to lose weight.

as someone who has bulimia this would never go down this way. they wouldn’t advertise their disorder, people are usually way more secretive of it. they also wouldn’t likely brag about it, as purging is very ineffective and only rids about 30% of the calories consumed. additionally eating disorders are rooted in deep emotional pain- why would anybody else want to push that on another person?
That’s true. People who struggle with bulimia most often feel shame about their eating habits and would not want to promote that pain so others could fall down the same destructive path and get hurt. I think the people who do promote them, though, don’t view the bulimia as a mental disorder but rather a “lifestyle” or a weight-loss tactic. For instance, when I was in school, I overheard a group of girls who we considered “the popular girls” talking about losing weight and getting skinny. One of the girls was bragging about starving herself. Although she had a serious problem, she didn’t see it as such and thought it was just a smart way to lose weight. It’s sad. Once you fall deep enough to realize you’re sick, it doesn’t remain something that you can be proud of. How are you now?
That is definitely true and my Aunt had bulimia and she had it for several years and she still has it and may I say it's not fun to see someone going through something like this

I really like how the first guy treated the situation. He used his credibility (nutrition expert), and explained that it was an unhealthy thing to do. He didn't try to make them feel bad or tell them they weren't normal, but instead said that it is a very harmful thing to do. He did it in a calm and polite way, no sass or anything. He didn't call them ugly, like how the others did (which i feel could really being down their self esteem more), but instead called them pretty. I just really like the way he handled the situation.

The differences in the people's reactions is exactly the essence of this show. These are social experiments to see how people react in various prompts, and how they perceived the prompt/stimulus. Kudos to the basketball coach/nutritionist for how he handled the situation, but people shouldn't also bring down the others just because they perceived it differently.

Wow, that first dude Jordan was amazing. As soon as he starts talking the actor's are speechless. You can see in the camera shots when he started talking about how if boys were putting that kind of pressure on them that they can do better, the actors playing the bullies are almost breaking, you can see in their faces that what he's saying is reaching them and not just the characters they are playing. As someone who is bulimic, this is horrible. I hope the two girls that have eds get better and dont peer pressure others. Never *ever* throw up your food, because 1. IT DOESNT MAKE YOU LOOSE WEIGHT BECAUSE THE CALORIES HAVE ALREADY SPREAD THROUGH YOUR BODY 2. It damages your throat, teeth and stomach from the bile and stomach acids coming from the intestines. I don't really think it is the right thing to say in that situation. They were actors but if it was real, that would be a young girl whose self-esteem got shredded. There are better way to handle things. If this was real, and not just a case of bullying, those girls would be in need of professional help. And basically telling a young girl she is ugly? That's not right. What if she started to abuse herself because of comments like that.
It would have been better to nurture the self-esteem of all three girls. Ensuring them that they are beautiful no matter what and that food should stay down.
