- Swapping our tiny van in Australia for van life in the UK has been harder than we thought! The last six months of full time van life in Australia has been full of highs and lows, but the hopeful anticipation of being reunited with our long term home Martha was quickly squashed with reality of what abandoning a van for six months of Irish winters can do. Honestly we kind of regret leaving Australia, but the time had come, so we will have to knuckle down and get Martha livable again!

⤈ WHO WE ARE ⤈
We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. Then we took our van further than she had ever been before to the very beautiful Turkey. Enroute, we stopped off in Spain for a few weeks where we experienced every van lifers worst nightmare, we were robbed and they stole all valuables in our van. But then we were back on our feet, fully MOT’d and back on the road through Europe before we experienced another vanlife nightmare... our van caught fire!! After the trauma of that we had a massive change of plan and made our way to Japan. We enjoyed a three-month Japanese Adventure and then got back to Martha for some new European Adventures. After an incredible three-month Scottish road trip, we have now packed up our van and are heading to Australia for a new van life adventure!

As I sit here enjoying a Geelong coffee (sorry Keely) I had a sad moment for you when you said Goodbye to Dingo. Bangkok looked like a great time and such a contrast to land back in Ireland to what I always imagine the weather is like LOL!. That mould was hectic.....wouldn't get that in a Toyota 😉. Thanks for visiting us in Australia! you've inspired me to take the kids to the glow worms next weekend at Maits rest...so thanks!

🤖🤖 Yeah I think leaving something running in the van would have been a good idea. Just didn't like the thought of leaving any electrics on inside, but defo would have helped
I sold my van on eBay and I am not emotionally prepared for this! I’ve had my van 2 years and everywhere I look in her is a memory ❤

White vinegar is great for getting rid of mold on pretty much everything. You can add some essential oil and dilute a bit with water, too. I know it looks bad, but I've dealt with similar situations, and it's been alright in the end. ❤ I wish you the best!

Sucks you had to deal with a moldy Martha upon your return. Buckets of charcoal BBQ briquettes left inside the van when it's not in use will help avoid that in the future. Hey guys, absolutely loving your content. I’ll be honest I only found your videos last week as you posted a Tasmania video and I was intrigued as I live in tas and I’m now hooked. I’ve now watched all your CZcams adventures in a week and I’m hanging for more lol.
One thing is please please please come back to tas. There is so much more you have missed. Especially in the north, north west central area. I’d love to send you a list of places including places to see all the wild animals you could dream of here. Devils, wombats, possums, wallabies, kangaroos, birds etc. for a small state we have so much to offer. But glad you enjoyed Tasmania but really hope you come back. That was a whirlwind exit from Australia, and I feel for you to get back to Ireland and Martha is full of mold - surreal. Mould...Yes I've learnt to leave the windows down slightly for ventilation using those wind guards to stop rain getting in....
Yeah we did leave our windows ajar to help ventilation, and all the same measures we took when we left it in Romania, so really shocked by how bad it was. Apparently the wettest winter in decades in Ireland, so just alot of moisture in the air 💔

This has been soooooo strange watching U in Bangkok where I've just spend the last 2 days 😂 I've just jumped a bus back to Pattaya 🎉 Welcome home , have to tell you tho.. my van is also covered in mold back home but I dont have to sort it until august 🤣

Bangkok is so awesome! That's our third time, we love it more each time. We could defo have it as our recovery place, when we need a break from life haha.
