There are many famous Khao Lam shops in Chiang Mai. You can try this keyword to search for a store. "ข้าวหลาม เชียงใหม่ or sticky rice in bamboo chiangmai"
Or if you try to go to the morning market in Chiang Mai name of market is Market city gate "กาดประตูเมือง" or Warorot Market in the morning 6-8am you will find many shops selling delicious khao lam as well 😁😁🙏🙏

We miss you here too! ❤️ Maybe you'll run into another Red Cross Fair somewhere in Thailand. They happen at different times of the year in different provinces in Thailand. I think in Chiang Mai it was Dec/Jan and they called it the Winter Fair.

Most of the walking streets are quite empty or closed now so it was definitely nice to see a lively market on the island :)

The festival definitely lifted the mood in Samui for sure :) Not sure if it's the same time every year.. they usually announce it a few months before and we'll see signs up on the main road.

Fantastic stuff! I discovered Wanderflo channel a few months ago and it's brilliant! At that time you were just kicking off on your adventures Paddy and I actually messaged them on a video they did that had this super cool beach pop up Coffee shop ( you went to that same beach like a month later if memory serves). Anyhoo, I was just commenting on how I thought you guys would be great together if you could all meet up and Flo at the time messaged me back and said they hoped to - and a couple months later - hey presto - my two favourite CZcams channels in the same video!

Great festival...... we have one Red Cross festival annually here in Phitsanulok.... so my daughter is always lucky with the raffle tickets. We have about five rice cookers and 6/7 fans. A couple of years ago she won a bicycle and they wouldn’t let her buy any more tickets the next night.... personality issue with the ticket lady...and we still go every year. The food is fantastic, as always. Ok I’m hungry now ..... c u later.
Wow she's so lucky! We have been to 4-5 fairs in the last few years... never won anything big. One time we even took home 20 plates and gave them to family 😅

What time of year is this held?
I wasn't able to travel this last year, but hope to return to Samui for 2-3 months next November.
The dates change every year but we think it's before Songkran in Koh Samui. If you go to another province they will have different dates.. like Chiang Mai has the Red Cross fair around Dec/Jan every year.

Samui makes for a good "hub" for other travels, so I'll keep that in mind. A good time for a good cause.

How is it in koh samui now? I don't be there for like 8 years now. Covid-195 make koh samui very calm and no people?
It definitely is more quiet on Samui. But nature has had time to recover and the beaches and jungle are beautiful :)
