What Happened to My Supercharged SVT Mustang Cobra at Barrett Jackson? - Flying Wheels

- We ran our 2003 SVT Supercharged Ford Mustang Cobra Convertible Terminator just to see if we could make any money and hopefully not take a loss. The cost to ship the car to Florida consign and then the seller commission added up quickly! Here is how we did.

The Shelby foundation sued the women who was suing everyone on behalf of the gone in 60 seconds movie. Shelby foundation won and the court ruled that the name Elenor could not be copyrighted as a car. So anyone can call any car an Eleanor without fear of lawsuit.
B is for Build did a video and basically said don’t give the name any more credit. Build a Shelby or anything else.
$30k is realistic for what it was , a modded convertible. You had the chance to make money on it from your original purchase but recall it being listed mid to high 30's on your site. Terminator's have a cult following and selling it at BJ was not necessary paying all those fees.
A modded convertible? What were the mods?
@@TheEnd-eg6wq KB Blower to start but there were also some supporting mods. He bought the car at an auction with unknown history. 30k was all the money for that car as he tried to sell it on his site for a couple months as well.
@@jpat99 all your points are spot on!
Mecum or Barrett-Jackson? Which one did you enjoy the most? Just curious.
Breaking even for an experience is pretty cool you also learned a lot and taught the viewers a lot. Next time you know what to expect if you were to bring a car. Maybe make a trip out of it with your son on an annual basis or with the family. Overall an awesome experience to witness from a viewer perspective
That auction blows for sellers. Lesson learned I wouldn’t sell there again if I were you. That’s the auction you go to for good deals as a buyer
You and Hoovie should collab on something. You are both enjoyable legit car guys with similar luck with cars.
@hooviesgarage
@hooviesgarage That is a great idea! Tyler helping out on the Ferrari buy! Both of y’all would get great views out of it and maybe 2-3 videos in the process. Both of you guys are really thoughtful content creators, you’ve both taught us valuable lessons as well as entertaining us. It was fun to see Tyler on Flying Wheels, total professional!
@@FlyingWheels Hoovie has a Kansas dealers license now! You should do an auction collab video
Craig could teach Tyler all about pre purchase inspections. All of Hoovies pain and suffering with purchasing vehicles is self inflicted for views.
Yeeesssssss, I was smiling when you encountered Tyler. Best moment of the whole vid!
First thing that jumped out at me when your car rolled onto the auction block was that there was no dressing on the wheels. I “think” it would have helped bring a few more dollars MAYBE 🤷🏾♂️
Thumbs up for seeing Tyler Hoover from Hoovies Garage
If someone was sitting near me filming themselves, I think I'd move. It looks so creepy to me.
HOOVIE ROCKS! Glad he said HI!
Craig in the year 2050 - (What's up guys it's Craig from flying wheels and today we're going to be checking out Cadillacs newest generation of there CTS-V Hovercar, unlike the last generation where you only got a 200 mile range per charge while flying at an altitude of 500 feet this model extends the range too around 480 miles while also utilizing Tesla's new highly-efficient micro solar panels to allow you to fly with very minimal power consumption while under direct sunlight... We've been waiting for them to implement this solar tech since 2047 when GM announced their partnership with Tesla.) Puts a whole new meaning to the channel name "Flying Wheels" 😂😂😂
By the way even though the year is 2050 over 30 years since Tesla announce the cybertruck it still hasn't been released, but don't worry it's coming soon... 😂😂😂
Lol @ bud light at the bar… Being given away free 😂
Craig is drinking one @13:05.
When I see a convertible run through with the top down I think the seller is trying to hide a torn up top. It is better to leave it up so they can see it is in good shape.
A shout out from Hoovie. How cool!
Great content! Filming yourself bidding really portrays the adrenaline actually being there. Hoovie is the man and it says a lot if he’s watching!! Keep crushing. They’ll be another cobra 🐍
Big fan of your channel. Appreciate your humility and authenticity.
Seeing Hoovie there was hilarious
That trip was a total success. You met a Hoovie & and even more importantly met one of your viewers who you influenced to start their own dealership and totally turned their life around.
That’s a success in my book. Regardless of loosing a few measly dollars on a car.
all great points!
I watch both channels and prefer your more relatable content.... awesome video!
When I was 17.... I hitch hiked from Austin to Key Largo, got a job as a car washer on a small lot and lived in the studio apartment in the back. One night, I "borrowed" a 69 blue Mach 1 and drove it to Miami to party all night. It got late and I had to fly back, 100 mph down Alligator Alley and almost hit one in the middle of the road, spun around, almost went in the ditch, floored it, power slid back on to the street and made it back on time...and Nobody saw it. You bring back so many memories of my cars... never owned a hoovie.
Any other stories about things that didn't happen?
Craig, last year I sold my 2010 Roush Mustang Stage 3 convertible for $29K. Kona Blue, 550 hp, roll bar, 5-speed. I sold it personally, but like you, I was hoping for more. Personally, I think you did real well. Congrats, enjoy your time in the Sunshine State!
What a beautiful Mach 1! And yea, it is THE Mustang to have…it is just a timeless beauty.
Hey Craig just wanted to say you helped my shop reset the oil light cus of your video on a 2010 F150😂thanks again, turns out my coworker at the shop bought his Chevy S-10 off of you as well
I was there and seen your Terminator in person, it was a clean car, I actually nabbed a few pics of it. The buyers were really soft at Palm Beach this year, that was an easy $45k car.
That Cadillac Seville was baller back then and looks good as a weekend cruiser for an grown man now.
Thanks for the entertaining auction videos!! 👍 I would have been tempted to put a sign on the dash in huge font saying Only 31k miles!
For a first time sale, no reserve was a ballsy move, honestly it could have gone waaaay wrong. Great video, so many cool cars in one video. Just watched like 3 of ur videos in a row, so addicting, I definitely would have tried to buy the "back to the future" truck...I'm a toyota guy, having had a 1978 pick up(fully customized badass) and a 2012 tacoma, those are my jam. good deal for 22 grand. good luck in your future endeavors, fun stuff.
Just found and started watching your videos! Great! I am with you on the Lincoln convertible. That appeared to be the right year with the dash I like (65). Great color combo and my thoughts are exactly the same as yours. I'd pull up in front of our son's house and ask who wants ice cream and pile the grandkids in the car and cruise off with the top down! Oh, and we lived in Maine for 30 years working at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and now live on the Treasure Coast of Fl. You need to move! Wish I'd known about this auction before hand (get all the info about Mecum but not Barrett Jackson). I would have driven down to just eyeball the vehicles! One more thought... It might be more affordable but, you really want a GTC4 Lusso and not the FF!
Great video Craig!Ive been to Barrett-Jackson in Palm Beach a few times.Always hit or miss.Too bad you didnt make enuff money to cover the car and expenses.Mecum,Kissimee in January is the event to go to.Much better presentation.Hope you had a great time.
I sold a Corvette at Mecum. It was the most nerve-wracking to experience. I lost a bit but learned a lot.
Nise to see inside baseball at the auction. Barrett Jackson always makes money- it's like they print money.
BJ is the real winner with a 10% buyers premium and 8% sellers premium, plus listing fee.
Damn, that sonic blue termi is really clean, I would have kept it. I have a 2003 fire red termi.
You win some, and lost some. All is not lost though! That '79 Seville is a dream Cadillac - what a fantastic gem there...
1976 t/a I remember when 78's were the one to have and they could be had for $4500 cdn.
keep being you Craig. Cheers from Canada.
Love your channel love how informative you are about the ends and outs of this business
Nice job as always
Fun video, we were there Thurs Fri and I remember seeing the blue Cobra. There were some deals like that Supercharged Riviera for 3k otherwise prices seemed very strong.
Love your videos, please note 360's did come from the factory in stick as well as 430's -- special note the 430 was the last factory manual transmission Ferrari.
Thanks for the education.
Shout out Hoovie, such a good guy
Hey i watch your video’s and they are great, you let people know that all used car dealers are not bad people lol keep up the good work
Great work none the less Craig!
The first car I sold at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach was a 1990 Mustang GT with 1350 miles on it that had never been titled. I sold it in 2007 Palm Beach BJ it hammered sold for 22000 which was unheard of for a foxbody at the time. I think that same exact car today would probably Hammer around 55 to 60. I think you did well in this car considering what the market seems to be doing.
Don’t be bummed I just subscribed!!!👍🏻
Love the show my friend. Takes money to make money.
Great vid !
great stuff thanks.
Sorry about the mustang. I’m really surprised it didn’t get more money. It was very nice
Mecum back at Harrisburg July 26th-29th.Always a decent amount of cars there.
After all the fees, shipping, airfare, hotel...i was pretty close with my $19860 guess
Hi Craig love the premieres
13:47 smooth camera work
Nice video def enjoyed this I think your next buy should be a Buick Grand National or even better a GNX
Sorry Craig that you didnt get more Money for your Mustang. Lovely Car. I remember you getting it lol. If you had your Red Viper there you would have needed me too carry all your money for you lol (i wish 😊😊) Anyway great video as usual and Safe flight home bro. Ireland loves you ❤ until nextime 16:13
Hey, like you said, you had the experience. Plus, you have the CZcams revenue. Glad you didn't bust!
And I didn't hear them say it was 1 of 55 Built That Sucks 😔
Welcome to flying wheels
Live and learn, but sometimes it's difficult. Enjoyed the roller coaster ride.
Craig the Ferrari 360 and F430 also comes in a gated manual from the factory as well but they are rare. If you do end up getting one or the other definitely aim for the F430. My dealership bought 2 F430s super clean for under 90k. Even one with rare carbon bucket seats. Deals are out there, if you have 100k now aim for the F430.
Chin up - you tried and did ok and had a good time! 😊
Welcome to Florida! West Palm Beach is Beautiful, I live in Holiday! Please do a meet and greet when you come to Florida!
Didn't know you had to return an electric car with a full battery. Great video
Nice event, keep up the good job.
You broke even, had a good experience, and learned something. Not a bad trip
Craig I live for your videos
The winner of that sonic blue terminator did not get a good deal because that motor ended up being hurt and needing a rebuild shortly after they drove it home. When the power was down on that second run at the dyno, that was your indicator that the motor was hurt which is why the dyno operator advised against running again although they used different reasons. It wasn’t the dyno operators fault though because it was hurt beforehand plus they didn’t adjust the tune.
I would of kept it. Loved the color. Win some lose some.
Ohhhhh that black oval Vw w/ Fuchs …. Look real good in Ny garage
The fact that you ran into Hoovie and he knew who you are? That is awesome man.
they are all the idiots of youtube of course they know each other, craig scams people at auctions daily..of course the locals know him
Craig, I love the videos. I have a question about extended warranties. I would like to know your opinion on extending the warranty on my existing 2020 ram rebel? Basic warranty expires in Sept. I plan on keeping this truck for a another 3 to 5 years. I purchased the truck new? Let me know your thoughts
I Love how you detailed it yourself and saved $$$
"So Much Winning,.. You're gonna be sick of winning!"
I had the exact same Cadillac Seville in 1980 it was a hand down for my father-in-law who worked at GM you got a free Cadillac every year I was living large when he work there LOL
Great episode! Thank you, Craig.
Selling one car at BJ when you had to much in it was a risk before you even got there, not posting miles didn't make a difference it's a 25-30k car either way, I had 15 cars there took some big hits on a few but it all penciled out afterwards, strength in numbers, the good will dig you out of the bad that's why I send 15-30 cars to ever BJ event and always come out ahead, this year was way off because the weather, the closing of Ft Lauderdale and Miami airports due to the floods, it sucked overall
Should have took it through Arizona instead of Florida. And on weekends like Saturday or Sunday. Too run through Barrett and Jackson...
How on earth did you NOT have the car’s mileage known?! Either that’s on you or on BJ…but that is ridiculous. It’s one of the most important pieces of info one needs about a car. Not exactly a professional experience imho.
Glad to see you posted the video of your mustang . I was hoping you did better on that car .
A Tyler endorsement is a happy endorsement ❤❤
Did you see the 79 Trans Am that sold for 170k? The seller put a sticker on the windshield that said 600 Original Miles. Next time put the miles on it yourself!
You have great content, I enjoy it
I watch your and Tyler's videos also. You both have great content. Keep it up..
Did you know How much the old dark grey Toyota FJ 40 sitting next to your Ford Mustang Sold? What year was the Toyota FJ? and where it came from? Here bin Venezuela are lots of old Toyotas coming to the USA. Greeting from Venezuela!!!!👍
that caddy is sweeter than a mustang
😄 Hoovie sighting, awesome
Also FYI for your viewers..Most of these cars are mileage exempt. If you are thinking of buying a low mile25 year old car ,just know that toy are taking a huge chance
I feel for ya Craig. BJ is notorious for people losing money. Its really tough I definitely don’t think you make a Mistake I think if they had disclosed all the stuff you said you would have probably doubled your money. It sucks to know that they didn’t disclose that. Maybe they aren’t as “professional” as we thought.
Auctions work for the buyers not sellers
Pub Subs are life!!!
Looked stressful out there. Cool experience I'm sure. What bothers me is sitting at a charger because I gotta charge the car before returning it... that's a major waste of time . I'll not be renting a EV that's for sure. I'd rather stop 5 min at a pump. I've heard those changers aren't cheap either. Great episode brother, thank you
This. They blame range anxiety, but it boils down to convenience. People are lazy these days.
*everything goes flying like a yardsale* 😹😹😹
You can get a 360 with 3 pedals. Same with an 430. Ferrari dropped the manual at the 458
Just saw this car on market place up here in southeast Minnesota.
Imma nubi. Good show man.
Craig you can buy a Ferrari 360 Spider with a factory 6 speed. I’m positive, I ordered my 2003 and it took forever bc they made very few with the 6 speed. When I sold it I made 50K.
Nice shaht aht from Hoovie!
Surely the Auction company for the rip off fee`s they charge should be making sure they ask you and do there homework on every car they put through.
don't cry this is one of your vids every!
I can't believe you let that mustang go you could have gotten 45 grand for it man it's not even mine and I'm bummed out
not on convertible
How in the hell is a specialized auto auction not going to even talk about mileage?!😮
The first thing I look at when buying anything is the miles. I’d be kicking myself also. Love Mustangs…. First car was a Mustang. That body style is the worst though.
My buddy recently sold one of those Lincoln’s, but he has another he might sell. I’ll ask n comment.
Been waiting to find out myself
You are definitely a beginner car guy. 😊
