I love Archer's realization when he looks at the diamond. He starts laughing because of the irony that he risked (or gave) his life for a stone that big. Great job improvising.
His blood spills onto the dirt, onto the land of the continent he sought so dearly to leave. A pained childhood in Rhodesia, a tainted view of his true native land was all that was left of it. But now as he lay dying, he finally accepts his place in the world. It was in Africa. He'd spent so much time trying to escape, but he loves his real home. He died a son of Africa. Right where he was supposed to be.
"Don't trust that pilot for a second. You point this at his head if he fucks around." This comes to my head every time I remember about this movie. Genuine words.
Forget the superb acting, the great writing only the background music alone should have won this film so many awards. By far the most moving background music I've ever heard in a movie.
The key in understanding this movie is that Danny Archer is African - as much as Solomon is. A Rhodesian, living his whole life in civil wars, since birth, losing parents to rebels, going through most things black Africans go through. Fighting in a war since he was 19, first soldier later mercenary, then smuggler.
His death made me so sad man. Especially when he said “you take your boy home huh, you take him home huh” i felt like here they really had like a friendship moment where they both didnt care about anything like the diamond and all and just having a talk as finally becoming friends after danny only using him for that diamond all the way to the end. Sad movie alright
Leo and djimon hounsou both deserved the Oscar. Thumbs up if you agree.
Better than the revenant, in my opinion

Leonardo DiCaprio is my top all time favorite actor. No oscars because he's obviously too talented for one. He deserves an award higher than an oscar.
How the fuck did he not get an oscar for this. By far my favourite film of all time. Incredible.
"Arche, you're a dead man!" "Yeah, yeah." Most badass reply back to the enemy

'I thought you would steal it from me'
"Take it, huh."

To me what makes this scene so powerful is how This diamond can cause so much pain and trouble and yet at the end they laugh about it :) awesome movie
