EP48: Brilliant Brisbane & Moreton Island | Southbank, Lone Pine, Tangalooma | Lap of Australia 2022

This week, we head straight to Brisbane (do not pass GO, do not collect $200) for the Christmas and New Year break. After spending most of the holiday period eating and drinking, we head into Brisbane city and check out Southbank as well as the unusual Imaginaria experience. We also stop by the famous Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to meet some of the local wildlife.
After staying at friends over the holiday period we then head to Scarborough where we base ourselves for a few days while checking out the area. Eventually we find a break in the rainy weather and head over to amazing Moreton Island to visit the Tangalooma Wrecks and try out some of the amazing snorkelling there.
We are Hannah, Chris and dog Archie, setting off on a 12(ish) month trip around Australia - our BIG Staycation, with the whole of Australia as our backyard! We've quit our jobs, rented the house and gone from never towing a caravan, to touring the country full time with one! We're learning as we go! / staycationoz

Enjoyable video, although shorter than usual -ah well, I suppose you were so busy with Christmas! Nice to see Lonesome Pine again - we visited there on our first trip to Australia, many years ago, and it doesn't seem to have changed much at all. Any way, a nice way to spend Christmas, with friends and their children and even a doggie friend for Archie. Thanks again.

Haha he loves presents!! Yea we’ve been to the wrecks before with clearer weather and the snorkeling is fantastic, definitely worth a trip, and so accessible from Brisbane!! Thanks for watching!!

Great vid guys. A couple of my favourite episodes have been the budget and education ones you did way back in South Aussie if my memory serves me correctly. They were well thought out from educated people that connected with us. Any plans for another update type vid?

Hi Hannah. Maybe touch on your thoughts of caravan parks vs free, low cost camping and why you may prefer one above another. Knowing what you do now, what set up would be your ideal ie on road van or semi setup or the full self sustaining setup. Budget - where are your weaknesses that leads to blow out as yours will be similar to others. Did you travel with extra fuel and if so, did you ever need it. Security especially when leaving van in a remote setting and along that theme, did you ever feel unsafe at all.Your internet setup is an interest to many.How important is it to book accomodation and activities in advance and is it different in each state. Answering from my wifes computer who is also a subscriber. All the best Dale and Jen
