I can't judge her, because I'm looking at this as a third person perspective and i was able to see so many red flags. But i don't know if i can be able to be so objective when it happens personally to me when I'm lonely/desperate to be loved 🤷♀️

My ex used to come to my job almost daily for lunch and flowers. Sometimes had them delivered. The spontaneous trips, gifts and just spoiled me like you couldn't imagine...I had no idea he was a raging, pill popping, cheating, habitual lying alcoholic that was psychologically and verbally abusive. A total Jeckyl and Hyde personality. In hndsight, the red flags were everywhere.

The thing is, that they come off so charming and "harmless" that some people dont think twice about having them around their family/kids. But this is not only with kids. They tend to help themselves to whomever they please (in-laws, spouses best friends, etc.).There are no boundaries in their world. That's why everyone, especially women, should learn the technique of extreme vetting before letting someone get too close.

The blatant display of entitlement, and disregard for the wellbeing of others sadly makes children no exception. Every school, university, and professional workplace should offer mandatory courses on narcissism/narcissistic personality disorder, because there are so many people that do not know about this dangerous and emotionally debilitating phenomenon. People should arm themselves with this knowledge, so that once they see one of the first displays/red flags (i.e lovebombing), they can ghost them and move on. Because once you are too invested, it's too late (and they do not change).

People judge so harshly this kind of behavior: “so many red flags”, “how did you allow it to get this far”, “it was so abusive, why didn’t you just leave”. If you haven’t been a victim of narcissistic abuse, it will indeed be hard to understand and easy to judge, since it’s a whole process, but you can only see the very top of the tip of the iceberg in a 1-2 hr documentary, that’s nothing, there’s no way someone could understand with just that amount of time. Also, the worst but most common combination is a vulnerable person with a narcissist, and it’s not a coincidence is the story that keeps repeating itself.

I would find it really distasteful if my fiancé told me how much money he spent on the engagement ring, no matter how pricey or economical it'd be. I think she fell for a very idealised stereotype of a wealthy Italian lover. He knew how to play his game and she fell for it. Trips, jewels, expensive things...
