Used to be a dental nurse, sounds like TMJ which is essentially you grinding your teeth slightly during sleep. Usually down to stress or just bad habit. A dentist can help with mouth guards if it doesnât get better â€

I got the same problem with my jaw about 3 years ago. It started cracking when I opened my jaw and it was super painful. And eventually I could only open my mouth a few centimetres, but it got better after a few months. The problem I had was that I bite down hard when I sleep, it was worse when I was anxious and stressed. I got a bite guard to use when I am asleep and it helped a bit. My dentist did tell me I would always have that clicking for the rest of my life. And now I canât yawn properly without the fear of my jaw getting locked/ getting popped out of place. But if you want to get it checked, go to a dentist. I went to the doctor and got X-rayed and it didnât help because they couldnât see a problem.
