Let's Crank it Out! Ep2: How Rubber Bands Change Your Mallet Tone

SAME wrap over the SAME core, but with 4 DIFFERENT rubber band layers (0-3). The tone change is obvious but also surprising in some ways.

Where do you buy the cores and bands that you use for mallets? I know you mentioned malletech sells some of these things but I can't seem to find anything

Wooow. Look! The same sounds that already are available from hundreds of mallets offered on the market. What a massive waste of time it would be to do that! Or perhaps I am wrong and what you're advocating here is right. Ok, Let's all do what you're doing. In that case, we'll all practice less and do more of this, then make our own mallets that sound the same and typically worse than professionally made mallets. How does that improve percussionists' musical level? Newsflash to all the marimba/vibes mallet companies: You can just stop making all your mallets, cuz we got this now! Yeah!
