I used to think Ross’s videos were too complicated 2 years ago. I have grown as a trader (not profitable yet but a lot less losses) and I learned to adapt my own version of his strategy.
He explains things so well and is the only CZcams stock person I follow
I remember when my heart rate would jump to 200bpm when I started trading with 1K shares. The pot of coffee probably didn't help but absolutely necessary on the west coast.

Hey Ross can you please make a video on how you would start day trading with a small account (1k to 5k) from Canada. What broker, trading software and level 2 data provider you would use. Also if you could talk about what trading sim you would use and what level 2 market data provider you would use for sim trading.
Yes, I agree I'm in the exact same place you are. I want to start with 3-5k and want to have the proper setup to limit my chances of failure. Thanks, for the post and hopefully Ross will read these and guide us in this journey.

2:48 I agree about the small account to start with; 500$ and if you en up getting a 50$ profit, I just multiply by ten in my head, (wow I could’ve made 500 if I would’ve had 5k in there instead of 500) so the multiply your wins and losses by ten while still trading live not in a simulator. Less risk but still get to learn the real market

Concerning using a Roth IRA for tax free trading, be aware there are income limits that may prevent you from contributing to a Roth IRA. They are on the IRS website, or better yet check with a tax professional.
For example, in 2023 a single filer cannot contribute if modified adjusted gross income is greater than $153,000. There is a reduced contribution amounts for $138,000 or more, but less than $153,000.
That’s true, but you can contribute to a traditional IRA then do a back door conversion.

Ross explains the market unlike anyone else. My trading has improved tremendously although my trading style is different, the fundamentals and insight he talks about are useful across the entire market no matter what you trade or how you trade it. I have learned not only what to do , but what NOT to do.
thats depressing Ive been doing well lately in the sim because I started trading big volume of shares and small wins also didnt realise commissions were that big. Like ross said it is a negative sum game

Not sure if you've covered this anywhere but for those without hot keys trading premarket, do you have any tips for quickly exiting a position?
Having an order ready in your order entry window is one way, however, Ross prefers hotkeys for his style of trading.
Just put in a limit sell as soon as the buy fills. This works very well for morning magic.

I just started paper trading but the platform has delayed data. I feel like I am identifying the right time to make a trade but when my orders get filled they are way higher than I want and when I try to get out of the position the dollar amount is different that what I need to be profitable. Generally 5% or more different on both.
Do you have any suggestions on what to do to have a better learning experience?
I use tradingvew and paid the $11 for data. It has paper trading and everything. but the level 2 info isnt nearly as good as what ross has.
No matter where you trade, you have to pay for data or it will be delayed.

You're taxed on the profits, whether you withdraw them or not.
