Leonard knew it was wrong and crossing some severe boundaries so he should have stood firm and let Sheldon deal with the consequences of facing Penny on his own. Instead Leonard gave into Sheldon and ended up being just as guilty in violating Penny's privacy as Sheldon.
He was trying to keep Sheldon out of trouble by going over there, but he should have left once he knew that was impossible . Sheldon wasn't going to stop and Penny was obviously going to know. There wasn't any point to him helping Sheldon, except to get Penny mad at him too. Leonard knew it was wrong and should have stood firm on his stance to Sheldon by refusing to help him. All Leonard did was wimp out and ended up being just as guilty as Sheldon.
one thing i do agree with is i hate when people uses couches and tables as storage areas....Its annoying. Couches are for sitting on no one wants to move over 10 pounds of old new papers catalogs and other junk over to sit down when there is no where else to sit. Or when you want a spot to eat and you have to move tons of things over...i know people who do that...if i was able to get away with it id just push all the stuff to the floor lol.
