  • Gran Turismo 7's latest update, version 1.46, has left many fans questioning its relevance and impact. Released amidst the buzz of Forza Horizon 5's All Stars month event, this update failed to capture the attention of players, myself included, until curiosity led me to explore its contents. Unfortunately, what awaited was underwhelming at best and disappointing at worst.
Polyphony Digital's reliance on fan-favorite vehicles to carry the weight of excitement speaks volumes about the update's overall lack of innovation. While the inclusion of beloved classics like the 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle may pique some interest, it falls short of delivering the thrill of anticipation that fans crave.
    The 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle:
Undoubtedly a formidable addition, the 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle offers ample room for engine upgrades and modest visual customization. However, its presence fails to elevate the update beyond mediocrity, lacking the spark of novelty or nostalgia that defines Gran Turismo's iconic vehicles.
    The AFEELA Prototype 2024:
A transparent attempt at Sony's PR maneuvering, the AFEELA Prototype 2024 feels more like a marketing gimmick than a genuine addition to the game. With its uninspiring design and lack of upgrade potential, this electric vehicle fails to resonate with players seeking meaningful engagement and progression.
    The Skoda Vision GT:
Continuing the tradition of Vision GT introductions, the Skoda Vision GT epitomizes the disconnect between developer vision and player expectations. As an overly futuristic electric concept car, it lacks the charm and relevance of Skoda's renowned rally heritage or its mainstream vehicles. Moreover, its non-upgradable nature renders it obsolete in a game where customization and improvement are integral to the player experience.
In conclusion, Gran Turismo 7's April update falls short of delivering the excitement and innovation expected from a franchise with such a storied history. While the inclusion of certain vehicles may temporarily satisfy enthusiasts, it ultimately highlights the need for Polyphony Digital to reevaluate their approach to updates and content releases. As players eagerly await meaningful additions and improvements, this update serves as a stark reminder of the importance of listening to the community and delivering updates that truly resonate with the player base.

The issue with Electric Cars for me in this game is they can only be used in one-make races, so you can’t select garage cars only even if you are just gonna use the same type of car as yours for the opponent choices.
    Not too sure why…

I agree so much with you, the chevelle in nice but the skoda is just no good, to me it´s another soul less super car atempt wich no one will touch after it´s gone of the time trial. At least this week´s races are very good but in terms off content I´m just disapointed lately

Vision has sucked since they first introduced it lmao the VW GTI and Toyota FT-1 were the only two I've ever really liked.

  • @BenjaminHartleyReturns

I liked all three cars. There is no need for new tracks or game modes, people should be grateful for what they have with this installment and hope the best for GT8 to improve the formula ever better. ☺️

GT7 is a truly great racing game and not in the least an exciting new installment in the longtime fabled series that will be entertaining hard core fans for years to come. We hope you feel the same!
