I’m sitting here in uni, stressing out my mind about work, but this video chilled me out, I could watch tutorials with this calming style all day, would making learning so much easier and relaxing. Awesome tutorial!
It kinda suprised me how many tutorials on such a specific thing like fireflies there are. Thanks a lot!
The beauty of UE4 community.
Most tutorials bore me with their pace or have terrible music or voice, but this one had the perfect pace and everything about it was perfect. Great job!
Used this to make twinkling stars. Thank you so much!
I know I'm late but I just really need to say thank you for this amazing tutorial, quick, informative and full of firefly magic
Simple, short, precise.
Perfect tutorial
One of the best tutorials out there.
Another great tutorial!
I really like the simplicity and beauty of your effects. Want to see more!
Thanks! More is on the way.
Hey wow I was surprised by the video length, you'd think it would be a 20 minute tutorial and stuff happening that you don't know how to do and either too slow or too fast but this was fast and clear very epic yes
Thankyou! :)
amazing to find tutorials under 5 minutes !
it was so useful thank you !
Thanx bro! The year 2021 tutorial still actual and useful!
for a total beginner like me its pretty awesome to find things like this since all other ppl just do the standard stuff.. u have my subscription ;) cant wait for more videos like this :)
Thanks for your subscription and I will try to surprise you every time :D.
Thanks alot. gonna try to add this to my project. much appreciated.
for some reason, you got a nice glow around the dot. it works for me, but i don't have such light glow as you do. i did everything exactly as you did
Hmm. Well my scene is completely dark so it shows up nicely. You could try connecting a scalar parameter (use S and left click) and connect it to the density on the radial gradiant. Try playing around with that value.
If it doesn't work it could just be that newer versions have something changed.
If nothing works you could make a texture in gimp paint or photoshop. One that is bright/dark in the middle and fades out at the edges. If you use gimp or photoshop you can add blur and fade at the edges and reduce opacity. That might give a nice effect at the edges.
Resurrection 21 i will try that whenever i get the chance :), thanks for the respond. i will let you know if it worked or not. if not, i will do it with photoshop :)
Thank you so much! This was exactly what i needed to finish my school project, real lifesavor!
You are very welcome!
thanks for making this man! Helped me get the dust particles for my space game working!
Thanx, mate. You helped me to do a job fast.
Your voice is really relaxing to listen to! Also this video was simple and easy to follow~ helped me out a lot!! Thank you so much >_
Great tutorial. Great effect. Thanks so much for this!
Amazing, thank you!
this was extremely helpful! thank you so much for making this!
Neat little tutorial. Thanks!
No problem!
Thanks for the big help.. best regard 👍👍👍
been looking for this!
Get subbed! D
Thanks and glad it was useful! :D
woooow!! thank you so much for your explication!!! Now i learnt how to make fireflies !!! your video help me on my tesina !! =)
an infinity thanks !! =) =) =)
you 're super speedy to explain all !! =)
Thanks a lot. It is so beautiful.
thanks bro
Thank you bro✌ Nice tutorial
Great tutorial and super easy to follow! If you wanted to lower the count of the fireflies to about 6 or 8 and confine them to a space (in my case a 3d lantern) how would you alter your settings to achieve this?
In the Particle's Initial size & Spawn Distribution settings
quick and easy
Great Tutorial! For a doungon I wonder, how can I make them moving all upwards continuously?
Great tuto!
Thanks!
how to adjust the brightness of particles
cool
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
wow. just wow. (& thanks.)
The music is cool
When you edit the sphere in the emitter I dont get the option for a float with a single value only vectors.
The best !)
Thanks for the tutorial it works perfectly! But can I change the color for a image like a butterfly (without animation)?
You are welcome! I'm not sure I follow what you are asking though. Perhaps be more specific.
When i face the camera up they disappear, how do i make them follow the camera? So that they don’t disappear at certain angles
funcionando 2020 ty broo!
Now make 10 Million of em
Great tutorial.
I want to make fireflies above my lake, but when player is running around, PlanarReflection of WaterSurface is freaking out. Do anyone know how to handle this?
You can't just ask such as vague question and expect an answer. I would recommend asking on the ue4 forums and provide screenshots so people know exactly what your problem is.
@@iBot. You can watch it here -> czcams.com/video/AkFRmBBOVuM/video.html
Asked in few places, still don't know reason why it's happening. I ask here too and i think it's not bad place, because i can't be only person who is using this fireflies + planar reflection on water with default settings, more people can have this problem and somebody needs to know the answer.
The Particle System dissapear when im move the Camera ... can you help me ?
Make sure inside the cascade you set fixed bounds in the top bar. That should prevent it.
I can’t for the love of god understand what you say around 0:52 to open the 0,0,0 box. Did you say Alt 3?
hold 3 and click
After i put the colour just like you did, mine wasn't really shining. How did you do that?
01:17 - Make sure you add a time and connect it to a sine. This sine then connects to base color. Click on the sine and change it from 1.0 to 0.5. And also make sure your vector 3 (color) is connected to the emissive.
Hi great tutorial! But it seems when I give the opacity the RadialGradientExponential value to the opacity the outer glowing seems to stop, any tips?
Figured it out I just needed a higher 'Value' in the material settings. It was always there it just wasn't enough!
What was the value? I am trying it myself and getting the same no-glow result. Can't seem to find the reason. It also doesn't even glow without the RadialGradient
Atomic_Core If u try bumping it up to 6 it should work a bit better but it's down to the situation. Also, bumping up the bloom intensity in post process volume will intensify it again
How to process random colors of the luminous points?
I didn't quite understand. Do you mean having random colors i.e. Adding color variation to the edges or adding color variation in the whole particle system.
To add variation on the edges you can use a radial gradient exponential and adjust the values on that or a texture that only only the radius in one of its RGBA nodes.
To add variation to the whole system you can adjust the material and add speed tree color variation.
@@Resurrection21 I meant to select an individual color during the game for each static mesh generated by the particle, but I know that in the blueprints you can find a graph that generates a random number ex: 2-50, but how would I generate this random value in hexadecimal of colors for dynamic material instance? I am using this tutorial that I really enjoyed as optimized and realistic stars for a space game senario.
@@__foo__ I see! In that case I'm afraid I won't be as much help. If I find something I'll let you know. Let me know If you find a solution. Kind regards
how can i make the number of the fireflies more?
Increase the Spawn No. to a higher value.
Nice tutorial !But I wanna to know this BGmusic because I heard it again,It' Ethereal。。。
Yeah it's an amazing soundtrack. I loved it the first time I heard it. It's called huma huma - eureka
mine are squares. did I something wrong ?
Make sure your material is set to translucent and two sided and you use the radialgradiant which you connect to the opacity. 01:35
Thx
what does the GPU sprites do
We can have a lot of them. Simply because they are calculated by the gpu and only need CPU to be spawned. If you were to leave them at default then they are capped as calculating them from the CPU is more expensive. Settings available also vary between different type data. You can read up more on the unreal engine documentation.
what the intro music? Say me pls)
Eureka - Huma Huma
Resurrection 21 omg bro, thx you so much!
:D!
:P!
:(
Cool video. I'm going to do the rain one next
Thanks! I'm just working on a new rain one right now. More realistic rain.
Cool. I'm subscribed so I look forward to it
You do a great job, but please go slower for tutorials, this is super quick of a speed for a tutorial.
ThankYou! And I'll keep that in mind next time :)
If it helps, you can modify the speed of the video. You can modify the settings, and you can select a slower speed.
