Hey everyone! Welcome to another video and today we're back in Zeepkist for more themed rack builds! This episode the theme is "VIDEO GAMES" so I decided to use the scaling plugin to build an ACTUAL Mario Kart track...Mario Circuit 2! Track ideas: motocross, thread the needle, evil twin, tron, mostly air, the upsidedown, slow path wins
These are awesome ideas hope they use them
I actually posted a track to the workshop that immediately splits in two, and merges later on. Only one of those two splits has a checkpoint on it, and you can't SEE the checkpoint from the start.

That time lapse music had me looking for a cannon with rising numbers preparing to demolish another color.

You guys should do shared map, if it is possible to share maps and build on them?
You basically build 20minutes of each map or something. And then when you get your map back you validate it in that state and ONLY do chances if you can't validate it after a while :D

Always glad that Kosmo seems to get these out first as his tend to work best.
It's the little details that make this track. Love the background hills and the placement of the podium such that you can view the whole track.
In theory, you could write a small script to take all the data of a map file and scale it down. Could easily make it scale down and move objects relative to the new size.
Now I want to do that. I don't have the game though, so I don't know the format tracks are saved in.

This track brings back memories of so many close finishes on Mario Circuit 2 in mk7 online. The only thing I would fix is putting the checkpoints exactly were they are in the og.
Awesome recreation of a super fun track. In my head "Oh Dapper boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling" keeps playing. Sounds like he was getting more familiar with those obstacles than he would have preferred.
Can't wait to see what he and Kan came up with too. Great stuff!
It would be fun if you guys did a half and half track where each person builds a whole track, but when there done the cut it roughly in half and give that to another person to combine with their half.
I thought I’d a better name for my ‘up and back’ suggestion from the other day.
“There and back again.”
Make a track where you have to reach the checkpoint at the far end, and then follow the same track back to the finish which is next to the start.
Or something Hobbit-themed. Your choice.

Corner cutting is a thing in Mario Kart, but off-roading slowed you down a lot more in Super Mario Kart than it does in Zeepkist. Maybe cover the sandy areas in those big red Xs that slow you down?
Awesome idea, to replicate the mushroom shortcuts, change the physics texture surface of the sand most likley by layering more underneath it, then add in spacifically small arrow boost spots where the pros usually cut around corners, this would have it so that in order to go above the lip of the road without being slowed down you need to use a booster, then make multiple paths based on pro and novice speed runs using tripple mushroom videos, that way you retain people having to carve and figure out their own path, then make the boosters faster but make multiple similarly timed paths for the ones you take while going off road
The way you used cats as Oil slicks was really creative.

ive actually started a project of my own to build every single mario kart track in zeepkist as accurate as possible, so it was pretty cool seeing your take on this one
map theme: cruel, just a bunch of obstacles/jumps that seem to want you to fail, eg jumping you into obstacle. or speedy transitions that want to throw you off
I really appreciate the musical selections Kosmo finds for his track builds.
mortals by wyarrio is one of my favorite songs... so glad he used it today.

The song is a good choice for timelapse, but did you choose it because the artist is Warriyo since you did a Mario track? XD

Nice! Maybe you can also make a jump that leads into a pipe that makes a shortcut, but a hard jump to compleet of course :p
Theme suggestion: Fun. Make a track that’s just straight up fun to play. That’s not to say these tracks aren’t fun, but I’d like to see a track whose only goal is to be really fun to play.

I could have made the offroad sections ice...but I wouldn't be able to keep the dirt colored

Maybe add boosters in the opposite direction in the sand area to stop the corner cutting? But very cool remake.
the Mario Kart 7 remake of this track had a glider panel and realistic gliding so i could easily cut the final turn with the glider

the creator should make "linear" checkpoints, instead of a ring, a flat entity such as the boosters, in this track they would be amazing. however that's just a convenience, the regular checkpoints are still great, but you could have extra customization and aesthetics

That attention to detail alone deserves a like. Too bad the track doesn't translate too well into Zeepkist gameplay-wise, but that is definitely not your fault.
Track idea: “Shortest 1 minute track”
Idea is that with the least amount of pieces, who can create a good Minute long track

Has anyone started moding this game yet? It would be neat if someone did add some sort of power up feature. Maybe try to drag Dr Pixel Popper into this game too. Also in reference to 16:38 you should make a Mario track where the ending is 3 vertical pipes like in original Mario jump levels. The first level I mean is 1-2

I didnt play much of the original SMK but these tracks arent hurt too by a little overscaling

Fun fact: The cats kosmo put on his track are actually in the original game, except they weren't cats, they were toads. It was a social experiment to see if players would go around the toads or go straight through them. Alright, how do I go back and judge who won the most track (as was an idea mentioned in a previous video)? Should I add up all of your times or do a point system for what place you finished? Also I am going to make the “season” last until the end of my summer break.
Point system. 10 for 1st, down to 1 for 10th. Would probably be the simplest way.
The F1 points system goes as follows: 1st-25; 2nd-18; 3rd-15; 4th-12; 5th-10; 6th-8; 7th-6; 8th-4; 9th-2; 10th-1 I'm not sure if that is the best system to use, but it could serve as a guideline.
@@-user_redacted- I am using Mario kart point system. It seems to work well, and has space for more people (because lobbies go up to 16)

@5:11 you could have written a small python or JavaScript script, that parses the file, and scales the position and scale of every piece by some factor, and then reports a new file.
Example in JavaScript:

Edit: you can execute JS by opening the dev console in your browser, e.g. ctrl+shift+I, and entering the code there. `` instead of "" allows for multiline strings without complications

Gotta say the cats kinda ruin a great track here. There is nothing wrong with having a track that can be completed almost every try, thats when people can start trying new lines or mastering the ones you found.
RNG muffles the aspect of who is the best driver while chance determines who gets the better run, i only say muffle because Warcans will not be silenced.
