I promise you eldlich with zero floodgates but a bunch of good traps is just as annoying if not more, I play a build that focuses on trap trick and traps like ice dragon's prison and dogmatika punishment... these traps can solo win me the game by themselves if well timed but once I start facing branded/swordsoul every game I do add skill drains to the deck

Maybe even use the subterror link monster to have an alternative search. It's mostly just guru and floodgate spam that makes it boring and toxic.
Playing normal subterror is super fun and it's one of my fave archetypes, it makes me sad that it gets such a bad rep because of people being toxic with floodgates
Have you tried Fossil with Megaliths? Weathering Soldier and Fossil Knight trigger if they're tributed for a ritual summon, and the constant flooding of rock monsters into the grave and Bethor popping 1~5 depending on set-up can help get off a big fuse.
I once played against a stun deck who managed to put up skill drain, there can only be one, and rivalry of the warlords *at* *once.* Needless to say it was incredibly annoying.

Almost any deck that doesn’t FTK, setup more than 1 negate, or put multiple floodgates is usually at least respectable to play against, but there’s a reason I am always tempted to include kaiju cards in all of my decks
For me it's a draw between Floo and Swordsoul. Floo makes sure your turn becomes more like "Our turn". Swordsoul just has so many outs, it doesn't matter what you play they keep finding a way around you. And their monsters do way too much for how easy they're too bring out.
I hate when people go overkill on the game. I get it you like to win, but I don’t care. I just want a fun game. If I have to wait more than 5 minutes for your turn to be over I am done.

ok so for ftk...special mention goes out to pendulum magicians which only needs to add a single copy of a card to their main deck and 4 extra deck spots, arguably 3 as supreme king starving venom is amazing at x1, so when played right their ftk is nibiru immune and they have the ability to simply play like a normal deck and not ftk
I made a eldlich deck because of the ftk I dueled before. I join the dark side and became platinum 2. Stopped because I didn't enjoy it and started dueling my cousin with fun casual anime character decks.

I personally get super nervous against Time Lords. I have played against 2 Time Lord decks and won once thanks to Blackwing Full Armor Master (I took control of their Time Lord during my turn and just wiped what was left their life points, they summoned tokens. tokens AFTER I played a monster with piercing damage). But now they make me nervous.
I have a huge bias against Sky Striker. I just HATE dealing with that deck. Especially now since Adventure and Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer are in the game.

played a 45 minute game (YES, 45 MINUTES, KONAMI?!?!) against ghostrick last night; lost due to missclick at the end
Always keep the XYZ in the graveyard and attack every other ghostrick that doesn't flip you down for them being flip by a attack

The only time I ever run Eldlich is when I'm doing Zombie Fusion shenanigans and want to Super poly for THE MAD *GOLDEN LORD.*
