Puffy stickers had the most amazing texture and combination of features (those rough/stringy seams, the lacquer-perfection of that soft, spongy squishy surface... and there was this smell--like a mildly sweet-syrypy plastic 'undersmell'--to puffy stickers that stayed around long after your actual scented stickers had wimped out). I remember my mind being totally blown by holograph stickers when they first came around.
As bad as I thought school could be back then! I'm so glad, I don't have to go to school! Or my kids for that matter, today! And feel sorry for the ones that do! I'll take back then any day! And back then all my spiral notebooks! Had heavy metal band names! Different kinds of beer cigarette companies! And other party perafanalia written all over them! And I wore metal and Harley and beer, liquor and stuff like that on them! And no one ever said a word back then!
Absolutely, and you didn't have to worry about getting jumped for your shoes or jacket. At least not the freaks like me anyway, I made my own bell-bottoms and the only color allowed in my wardrobe was is and always will be BLACK☠️🦇🤘🏻
I remember that School accessories were one of the highlights of my middle school experience. They had a bunch of selections out in the hall for purchase and you can bet my dad was happy about that. He was a come home from work, pub open a soda beer and watch The boo tube. If I'm lucky I get hamburgers that night or maybe the occasional steak. Tidy house but the feeling of impersonal just get it done and over with was always there
The jansport back pack this explains why it was popular in the early 90's ....our parents had them 😂 Actually a lot of these things I had in the 90's. Mr sketch markers are what inspired me to be the artist I am today 😊❤

I remember in my old restaurant job when I did the bookkeeping someone got a couple of Mr Sketch scented markers for some reason and I would go around teasing one of my coworkers with "commercials" I would recite about what a "refreshing experience" writing jobs would be ever since I got my Mr Sketch Raspberry Scented pen, etc.! Haha!
I was the very first kid to have a Janssport bag in my school, I didn't know they were anything or would be anything, but somehow everyone started to have one. I still have a Jansport sweater, umm probably late 80's (88/89? not sure) wearing it almost a day or two nearly every week (except summer) and not even one tear on it, amazing.
Stickers and the smell markers,we would be super excited to see that sticker on our paper kids today would ask you what that is of course you tell them and then they tell you your wrong lmao
I wore those jelly shoes in my late teens and made the mistake of walking too far in them to work every day without cushioning. I could have discovered ankle high hose too but didnt think of it. Walking several blocks to catch the buss and more to get to work down a smoggy Pasadena Cali sidewalk will give you a need for a few Bandaids.
Kids from smaller factory towns were so much more familiar with these things’ knockoffs that sometimes we didn’t even know about the original (and/or the rich kids were the foolish outcasts for wasting $ on them 🤣)
My narcissistic mother wouldn't get any of these things for me. When I told her that all of my friends had them I got hit with the excuse of, " if all of your friends are jumping off of the bridge, would you jump too??" All I wanted was some scented markers and a JanSport backpack.

3:54 That turquoise is Mango is odd since no part of the Mango has any blue color, let alone turquoise. I have two mango trees in my backyard and the skin of the fruit is green, slowly turning reddish as they ripen and the fruit inside is orange without a trace of turquoise to be found anywhere.
