    Have covered 5,000 miles in a V60 Inscription and this car is simply so, so good.
    No rattles due to,amazing build quality,; motorway journeys shrink thanks to amazing seats and ride comfort and the icing on the cake is just how good this car looks( Denim Blue/'Blonde Leather)
    A fantastic alternative to the usual choice three German brands.
    Totally satisfied!!!

    I drive an old 1998 Volvo V70XC Cross Country and the Old Girl is getting ready for retirement. After seeing this video, I am just WOW!!!!! I am blown away by this V60, and it looks like a worthy successor to my aging Cross Country XC70. It's beautiful, it looks comfortable, it has a HUGE trunk that is perfect for my model trains when needing to load up for a train show, but what sold me is the BEAUTIFUL moon roof!!!! I thought the moon roof on my sister's VERY Old 1990 Volvo 760 Turbo Wagon was impressive, and the Moon Roof in my 1998 XC70 a step above making it more impressive, but this new panoramic moon roof blows me away.
    Nice job Volvo, you have a winner with this car. BEAUTIFUL machine, and very well engineered. :)

    This model will absolutely cannibalise the v90 sale figures. It looks nearly the same or IMHO even better thanks to shorter chassis length, has almost the same engines, is based on the same platform and you can have the same equipment for a smaller price. It's the same case with xc60 vs xc90, as I can see here in my town more and more of 2gen xc60ies in past half year.

    Volvo has definitely upped their game. These cars are amazing. On vacation to the USA i hired a Mercedes GLS but when we arrived there were none so we received a S90 long wheelbase with the option to change it out at a larger location. I was so impressed with the ride, comfortable, fuel economy and all that i didn’t swap it out. Now im actually considered purchasing one in the future but i wonder only about Volvos reliability.

      @satnitcboy Před 6 lety

      They're not showing them as an option with the "build your own" on Volvo's US website - though, since the car isn't available yet, that could change. It seems the only option for "fabric" seats on a US Volvo is with the R-Design "alcantara" (ultra suede) with leather trim.

  • @petejr7583
    @petejr7583 Před 6 lety +4

    Love it!! My ‘15 V60 is beautiful, but the new one is much nicer in many ways. My favorite design cues are lifted closely from the ‘14 SPA Estate Concept (Shooting Brake): Thor’s Hammers (of course), grille, sharp and prominent rear shoulder (Swedish Hip), tweed interior. The interior volume increase is another win. Traditionalists are happier with the more vertical rake of the rear hatch than the V90, for the space and the visual. The electric rear seat lowering is a nice touch in this class.
    I would prefer the old turbo 6 as in my Volvo’s, but the power from the (less refined) Drive-e T6 superturbo 4 is adequate. I would also prefer some more redundant tactile button controls for basic HVAC, stop/start and infotainment (this integrated center screen/monitor is preferable to the Audi and Benz stuck-on jokes). Volvo still not nailing the suspension and steering. Other versions have adjustability for steering power assist which helps the feel,along with a bigger wheel/(lower profile) tire package.
    Thanks for the very informative road test Thomas! Nice job!

    I don’t know what you think guys, but I believe Volvo is spot on with the exterior design, but on the inside I feel good quality and nice design, apart of the dashboard which is really ugly. Trying to remain objective, still think that Audi is 5 years ahead, a lot more refined, and better quality/design. Great review Autogefuhl, thanks

    Huge shame the turbo I6 T6 is gone. A new design based on it, with some updates, detuning from Polestar specs, cylinder deactivation, maybe direct injection, it would probably achieve 23/30/25

    well, i'd say the consumption is always very individual for each driver... i had 1997 Volvo S70 2.5 petrol (no turbo) with 125 kW. My long term average consumption was 8.2 liter/100 km. Of course one could have also 12 liter consumption, when not foreseeing what's going on in the streets... what i found out was, that if someone was/is driving Volvo - because the car seems so relaxed, they tend to put more throttle than they would do with other cars...

    The steering wheel works absolutely perfectly.
    I understand that you have to find something negative to highlight the German cars that are being bought less and less , because they are so "good" 😉

    Danke schön Meister! Could you Thomas review the Hyundai i30 Wagon, the Korean marques are popular these days in Finland.

    I don't understand blind spot monitors. If you adjust your mirrors properly you don't need them. Unfortunately most people adjust them so they can see the side of their car when parking, instead of adjusting them slightly further out to see the lane next to them, thus eliminating "blind" spots. Beautiful car btw, awesome review.

    I wish they would allow special ordered manuals on the T6 petrol engine. Please Volvo!

    Thank you Thomas for the great review! I am looking at the T6 V60 Momentum for the US market. Same interior but grey exterior, depending on price.

    Thomas, many thanks for this review and driving experience. I'm waiting for this. The new V60 is available for pre-sale here in Brazil. For the test, you pick the more beautiful color, Fusion Red. I'm looking for a XC60 or V60. Price starts at €46.000 for V60 that has only one version here, T5 Momentum without panoramic roof, rear a/c, HK premium sound; and XC60 costs €55.000 for T5 Momentum or €65.000 for T5 Inscription. My first choice color is Fusion Red and second is Denim Blue, both with blond leather interior. It's a great car despite the high price. Thanks... and the Autogefühl team are the best!

    Looks so much better than the rivals. Volvo's problem is though, as always, that whenever they have a success, they completely and entirely focus on celebrating that rather than continuing to innovate. Yes, Volvo, we have seen your hammer lights now, Audi even copied them, and those lights won't make the decade-old V40 so much better that it's actually worth buying.

      djchristian82 First Audi just had an ordinary LED strip of some weird banana shape. Audi A6 and Q5 copied the Hammer, though it has more of a dogleg shape.
      Only 5 years? Hell, that car got old massively fast.
