- Hello Everyone!
Happy New Year to you all.
Here is a quick video on how I trim the Dragonfly in VTOL VR. Hopefully some of you will find this useful. If there are any tips you would like to see that I haven't made a video for, please let me know in the comments and I will see what I can do.
Clear skies!
Ferret - Hry
im fairly positive that modern helicopters have automatic trim, not sure why we have to do that in game
constantly trim? fuck that I'll just stick to AP and wildly fighting with the stick
This is the right answer
Thanks for the tips, will start paying a bit more attention to the trim status of the heli
Thanks for the video! Helped me out a lot.
very epic
Could you do a video about the AH94's radar? I think you showed in a earlier video how you could "stealth" snipe targets while hiding behind a mountain. I was toying with this a bit in the mission creator, trying to create a scenario to take out SAM sites while remaining hidden.
Yeah, I’m sure I could do that for you sometime in the near future
@@TheFerretsWheels You've mentioned a few times you're looking for ideas for videos.
just a question, what is the difference between the flight and combat collectives?
Flight collective controls trim with thumbstick and has hover autopilot on the button. Combat collective controls SOI with thumbstick and several other options relating to weapons and countermeasures
@@TheFerretsWheels thanks!
Do you have a method of checking your trim w/o taking hands off the controls?
I don’t. IRL you would feel feedback in the flight stick but there is no stick feedback in game
:D
So to be clear, you just let go to trim? You don't press a button? Unless I'm being a complete idiot, I couldn't see the part where you say what you actually do with the controllers to trim?
Letting go of the stick will show how close to in trim you are. Hold the stick while trimming, then let go to see if the heli still wants to tilt by watching where the ball in the centre of the HUD moves. If the ball still drifts when you let go, you are not in trim
Thanks for the reply. I'm still not sure how to actually trim though. Like what do I physically press to do it on my controller?
@@TheFerretsWheels Is there a knob that you use to adjust trim? You only showed what indicators to use for trim.
Right thumbstick is rotor trim. Left thumbstick (while holding lower/flight collective handle) controls rudder trim
Awful. No instructions on how to actually trim just settings that are good once you know how to trim. I'd recommend if you're making a tutorial video you should assume the watched hasn't been doing the thing you're teaching for hours already.
I explain where the trim switches are and how they operate in another earlier video
@@TheFerretsWheels if your going to call a video " How to Trim the AH-94" u should include HOW TO TRIM IT.
@@unable1234I think the point of the video was to explain the “theory” of trimming, not literally what buttons to press
