@@222MovieMan l don't agree because I think that's a popular self fulfilling procephecy. It's even possible for an average student to learn algebra as early as 4th grade because early algebra is only just a symbolic generalization of numerical operations. The United States likes to overhype math as something that only a genius or human calculator can do when math is one of the broadest disciplines in which you are bound to find a subdiscipline that fits you're niche of interest or way of thinking. Just because you can't calculate large numbers in you're head or recite pi to several decimal places, doesn't mean you're bad at math altogether.

Reminds me of the brief time I worked as sub a teacher for first and second graders.. I noticed 1 kid loved math, once I made it fun to learn, and he had talent for it. I thought him up to around 5th grade level, which only took a couple of weeks. Then school stepped in and I got yelled at.. Because they want the kids to be on the same level.
The kids didnt care! So they forbid me.. I never heard from this kid parent. This was in scandinavia 10 years ago.
I also believe that every kid is capable of going way beyond what is "normal" if you just let them follow their interest. Some were natural comedians, politicians, engineers, athletes etc. But when you force their direction you can kind of see how their spirit dies. Like when the potential athletes have to sit and learn math and vice versa.
What amazed me the most is how little the parents actually knew/cared about their own kids natural talents...
Some kids were so athletic and energetic but had to be put on amphetamine to sit through a math class...
For others gym class is a torment and get self esteem issues.. For what? To learn exercise? Cmon..
    Crazy world.

I wasn’t the one comparing the two. In fact, I was against comparing them if you couldn’t tell by my comment. You bring up a really good point, this is real life. This kid is, mediocrely put, a full-on genius, but I doubt he could pull off a PhD in theoretical physics at the age of 16.

I'd love to talk to Carson! At 14, I was learning the basic ideas of quantum physics, and I had started learning science before I was seven. By that point, I knew about the current theories about the solar systems' formation, and I knew about black holes, neutron stars, supernovae, etc. a year later. Now, I'm delving into high-level high school math, and soon, Calculus, while learning about the practical applications of gravitational waves, quantum computers, etc. I want to do something about climate change, and one way to do that while dealing with physics is getting into small modular nuclear reactor research at some point. By these standards I'm obviously not remarkable, but in a way, I love that.

Not at all. One can't be degraded cuz other one excel in some scientific subject and get tag of being superior as engineering always meant best out of all. There are many career options that are equally respected.

Alan Shteynberg actually no how did you get that from watching this? this kid proved that we're all not created equally or everybody would be graduating college with a major in quantum physics by the age of 14. That boy actually makes that statement void. there are a lot of different factors that go into development when a baby is growing as a fetus. If we break it down by race we already see that certain races are definitely more intelligent on average than others. White Europeans are smack dab in the middle certain tribes in Africa are on the low end of the spectrum and the Eastern Asians (Japanese) and certain Jews on the high end. of course this is the average and there are exceptions and different factors when it comes to individuals.
