I’m a tarp guy; so, your experience with the Alpha Tent was a good demonstration. Thanks. Everyone gets in a hurry. Perfect shelters go up in 5 minutes, perfect meals are ready on a perfect fire in 3 minutes. Your poncho tarp was okay, a bit tight, small, just what you wanted to learn. You did it in good weather, smart. Thank you for sharing. Texas

I love that you actually do it. I don't know a lot of creators that will put their body on the line and really use what they talk about. And you always have such a great attitude.

Nice video Kenny! There was another video on poncho shelter called a hooch shelter which is the same configuration as the alpha tent but the hood is tied off to the tree with 4 corners steaked in. But otherwise the video deserves the best. Hope to see you doing more of these videos later in future!

Have you ever attached the poles to the stakes creating an outside frame work? Then erecting the poncho inside the framework in a pyramid shape, with the hood tied to where they meet. Could do that also with a tripod suspending the poncho inside of the frame work to prevent rips and tears.

    • @UglyTent

You’ll just have to experiment with the length. I can’t remember exactly. But the poncho will give a lot which allows room for trial and error

First, thank you! With a poncho I like the lean-to with one side on the ground. I know its a false sense of security but I feel less exposed and I sleep better. It's all psychological but that's the biggest part of survival anyway.

10 oz of water, 4 tea bags and 1/4 cup of sugar. Heat the water and tea bags, let it sit for a few minutes add sugar stir until it dissolves, pour back into bottle. There ya have it tea syrup for the woods. Thanks for watching!
