I’m a tarp guy; so, your experience with the Alpha Tent was a good demonstration. Thanks. Everyone gets in a hurry. Perfect shelters go up in 5 minutes, perfect meals are ready on a perfect fire in 3 minutes. Your poncho tarp was okay, a bit tight, small, just what you wanted to learn. You did it in good weather, smart. Thank you for sharing. Texas
Thanks for the comment and for watching!
This is wild , They all set up different..That was awesome.
Beautiful location!
Thank you for sharing.
Be safe out there.
Thanks Tim!
Looks like a great spot to be on opening day. At least for Massachusetts standards. Haha.. looks like a great time.
Very nice setup.
Excellent video, great location! Looks like it was a great time.
Thank you! Yeah I love it out there. As always thanks for the comment.
Kenny
I love that you actually do it. I don't know a lot of creators that will put their body on the line and really use what they talk about. And you always have such a great attitude.
Thanks Bruce! That means a lot coming from an experienced outdoorsman and CZcamsr like yourself.
Kenny
Nic ecamp and the ugly tent seemed to work out for ya ! nice light shelter!
enjoyed
atb john
Thanks John!
Good overnight boys! It is ugly an there ain't no standin' room but would do nicely in a pinch! Thanks Kenny. ZZ.
Thanks ZZ! You're right not much to it, but it was a fun experiment.
Kenny
Nice video Kenny! There was another video on poncho shelter called a hooch shelter which is the same configuration as the alpha tent but the hood is tied off to the tree with 4 corners steaked in. But otherwise the video deserves the best. Hope to see you doing more of these videos later in future!
Interesting, I'll have to check it out. Thanks for watching and for the nice comment.
Kenny
Very enjoyable video!
Thank you very much!
Have you ever attached the poles to the stakes creating an outside frame work? Then erecting the poncho inside the framework in a pyramid shape, with the hood tied to where they meet. Could do that also with a tripod suspending the poncho inside of the frame work to prevent rips and tears.
Another great idea. Thank you for watching and for the comment!
Don't'chu buy no ugly tent !! LOL
Lol
That’s a lot of work for a diamond
Great video, you have a great Channel, Survival mindset sent me over.
Subbed
ATB Del
Thank you! I'm glad he sent you over, and thanks for the sub.
atb,
Kenny
Interested to see where you are camping - looks awful warm for this time of the year compared to up here in Northern Canada!!
We were in south east Ohio, it was in the 40s F. I'd love to see Northern Canada this time of year. Thanks for the comment.
Kenny
Nice set up. What length did you do for the poles Ive got some collapsile poles im trying this setup..
You’ll just have to experiment with the length. I can’t remember exactly. But the poncho will give a lot which allows room for trial and error
hahaha hehehehe hahaha hehehehe I wet me kickers lol. sooooo much fun watching you guys!! blessings.
Lol! I'm glad we could entertain. Thanks for the comment and God bless.
Kenny
I was wondering if the condensation gets bad in the alps tent great video by the way
Is the condensation bad in there
The alpha tent poles are supposed to go into the grommets that is probably why it did not pop out as much
I saw Louisianahiker channel idea of combining the woobie and poncho. I’m going to safety pin the SOL heat sheet to the woobie First this winter.
Great idea adding the insulation. Good luck, and I hope it works.
I think the guy who brought the tent was the smartest...
Who needs a tent if it dont rain....
I subbed. Great American Survival recommended you. Good day.
Thank you for the sub! I appreciate you and Great American Survival.
Kenny
UglyTent Bushcraft & Survival Anytime friend. I like to do pistol action shooting on my channel. Good evening.
Nice poncho tent shelter
Thanks Bro!
@@UglyTent im looking in to making me one 👍
De onde vcs são ? porque aqui no Brasil não da pra pernoitar sem tela de mosquito na barraca
I haven't tried that type before. I need to attempt to make one.
Using replacement tent poles is a lot easier and the set up looks and preforms great. The saplings was just an idea I wanted to try. Thanks for watching.
Kenny
Did you add those pockets to ponch. I dont ever remember my ponchos on active duty had those.
Yes I did, I sewed them myself.
Looked a good time! What part of Kentucky are you located in this video?
Yes we always have a good time together. Those boys are crazy. This one was in South East Ohio. Thanks for watching!
Kenny
To much work compared to the other fellows. Re- think your choices. No mosquito net. Wow.
nice video.be safe sir.
Thank you.
High, i have a lot of different folding-tent-poles. Next summer i will try your setup with a DD 3 X 3. Kindly Fiete
Great idea, I haven’t tried it with a tarp yet!
What jacket are you using
Handy poncho for an emergency.
Yes it is. I'm very fond of that piece of gear. Thanks for watching!
Kenny
ok you tried all these shelters which one do you like best so far..... good video my friend
First, thank you! With a poncho I like the lean-to with one side on the ground. I know its a false sense of security but I feel less exposed and I sleep better. It's all psychological but that's the biggest part of survival anyway.
Kenny
That was an ugly tent, but thanks for trying new things and sharing what doesn't work too well in addition to things that do work.
Thank you for the positive comment! It's encouraging.
Kenny
😢♥️🥴
What's exactly in the tea mix? I know being from the south, I don't go very far without my sweet tea. Tia!
10 oz of water, 4 tea bags and 1/4 cup of sugar. Heat the water and tea bags, let it sit for a few minutes add sugar stir until it dissolves, pour back into bottle. There ya have it tea syrup for the woods. Thanks for watching!
Kenny
The shelter doesnt look long enough for anyone over 6ft
You might be right. If you give it a try let me know how it goes. Thanks
LIKE
Thank you
He said staring me. What's he staring at?hehe
I know, I screwed up. But it was too late once I realized it. Lol. Thanks for watching.
Where are you camping ? Reminds me of Kentucky. Thanks
Yes I live in Ky, but right on the Ohio state line. We were camping in Ohio during this video.
I just noticed the typo "staring" . Lol. My apologies.
ya'll from East ten or Georgia?or did I miss the accents?lol looks like a great time
From North East Kentucky, but I think we associate more to the southern life. Thanks my friend!
Kenny
I’m gonna guess either Greenup or Lewis Co Kentucky.... or dang close by.
Yes sir, very close. Boyd County
UglyTent Bushcraft & Survival I'm originally from Greenup Co! Small world. You get an automatic subscribe being a good ole east Kentucky boy!
Awesome! And thanks for the Sub!
at least it wasn't dayglow pink
Lol! Yeah it could always be worse. Thanks for the comment!
Kenny
If it were pink, it would have matched his socks.....hehe.
Terry Royster 😂
"starring"
sorry, can't help m'self.
I was hoping no one would notice. Lol. It was to late when I saw it myself. But thanks for watching anyways!
