@@crystatyusea links are no longer up?
@@horsemen601 Hi! We are currently revamping our EA Courses, which we will launch in Aug.
@@crystatyusea do you have a mailing list we can subscribe to for when it is updated?
@@faithmatlock8695 Hi Faith! You can send us an email at Hello@CrystaTyus.com so we can send you an email once it's available.
I first stumbled upon the term "Enrolled Agent" in May 2019 when I literally googled "gigs to do on the side of music." This search was elicited by emotional roadblock, a rut that could only be attributed to my approaching the inevitable income ceiling of my live music business over the last 3 years (and now, in 2020, an uncertain future in that business due to COVID-19 shutdowns).
I already knew I liked taxes (filling out my schedule C annually is like an IHOP activity sheet to me), so after watching your fun and HIGHLY informative video, this credential jumped out as a perfect related field that would both increase my business admin savviness AND extend my skills to new bounds.
As of yesterday, a little over a year later, I have now passed Part 1 of the SEE Exam and am looking forward to holding my EA in 2021 (fingers crossed!!!). Thank you for showing me the path to a new dream, Crysta!!
I feel like I have been wasting my time by not becoming an EA. I have been preparing taxes for 5 years now and have really not given my all to building and stayed away from EA status. I am definitely doing that this year. Thank you for your videos! Subscribed!!!
Your welcome! Thank you for your support. If, becoming an EA is your next step you should definitely take it. However, if you are going to become an EA you should also own your own virtual 6 figure tax and bookkeeping business. It is very profitable. We have a course titled, "Tax and Accounting Clients on Demand." This course would be perfect for you. When you are ready to take that leap of faith, learn more and join just click here:

Thank you for your videos! I own a Financial Advisory firm and I am studying to become an Enrolled Agent. Most Financial Advisors are not experts in tax, and certainly don't prepare taxes. I believe being an EA will set me apart from other advisors and make me more valuable to my clients.
Very informational, Crysta! Thank you very much. I've just registered for my exams.
Great video and information I love it thank you!
Just what I was looking for.
1.2 million tax professionals and 62k EA’s. That’s actually less than 6%!
👍
Thanks for doing the math.
Intermediate Accounting has been kicking my butt this semester, but Federal Income Tax has been fun and informative. I may just drop the Accounting class and do this.
Ok
Another great video with lots of good information. Is there a link to see the video on the steps to becoming an EA?
Thanks for this video!!! You're awesome!!!

Will definitely sign up for a class soon!
An EA isnt the equivalent of a MST. MST programs are much more in depth, the curriculum often includes reading actual Tax Court cases, reading the actual IRC and Regs, tax research and understanding the tax framework and process if how taxes are enacted etc. I've worked in tax for public accounting firms, including Big 4 firms, and often times people do not know how to actually read the Code, unless they are Senior managers or above. Also, I've met EAs who do not know how to read an Operating Agreement (e.g., waterfall provisions, profit percentages vs capital percentages, 704(c), 704(b), etc) which is very scary since that is what drives the allocations to the members. Tax work isnt data entry and knowing a few rules.
F3nom There is no limit to what an EA can learn just because they didn’t pay for an expensive degree. I’m a CPA in audit and I meet all kinds of incompetent and unscrupulous licensed and educated professionals. You might be surprised how many less-formerly educated and licensed professionals, like EAs, are actually more motivated to improve their knowledge because they understand the need to overcome the bias they face when competing with more people with prestigious designations that might be complacent due those designations.
Awesome Content Crysta ☺
Thank you Jay!!! ❤️
Great video!

Thanks so much for the information! I have a question. So, I’m actually on the path to get my EA certification. After consuming all of the knowledge needed to pass the exam, where can you learn new or specific tax strategies? Like, what’s the resource / research method or how do you go about learning these new things?
hello crystal. I became an EA last year in 2019. I work for hrblock. I have a question. even though i m an EA I still lack experience to complete more complex returns. and I still have to learn how to use the hrblock software. every tax Sean I feel like I have to fight just to get clients and I deal with a lot a tension because my coworkers are afraid of losing clients to me. I wanna stay at hr block for the experience I can gain. but would it be worth it? or should I just try to start my own virtual tax business? iv been considering it for some time. thanks
Hello, great video! I am looking to becoming an EA. However, i have a ptin already and i have been working as a tax agent under another company from home. I am just a bit confused. I want to have my own company but i also want to learn more about taxes as well. You have any advice for me?
What books do you recommend for 2020 study?
what's the difference between your EA study accelerator and advanced business tax bootcamp bundle?
2 thumbs down.... Seriously
Smh.
Thank you Crysta
Thank you! You are welcome.
How did you prepare for EA, how long it took you? What is the test like? What is the best way to prepare for the exam? Is there a course you would recommend?
I have no formal tax preparation training. Should I invest in becoming a certified tax preparer before I begin my studies for an enrolled agent?
you are awesome
Can an enrolled agent do bookkeeping and payroll services along with tax services?
Do you charge for a 15 minute call?
Hey, would you say that your EA program will give me the same amount of knowledge as another online course? Because they are charging about $500 for online courses and I’m wanting to know if your course is just as good or better. I just want to be prepared to pass all three exams.
Do you still prepare taxes or answer tax questions?
Hello, I need to learn how to prepare taxes, what do you recommend? Do you provide tax school?
Hello, glad to see that you are ready to take the steps to learning taxes. There are several courses you can check out on our website. The course I would recommend is the "Tax and Accounting Clients on Demand." This course will not only prepare to become a tax and bookkeeping professional but also teach you how to build your own 6 figure tax and bookkeeping business. This program also comes equipped bi-weekly mentorship and a private community of other tax and bookkeeping professionals who have or want their own tax business. To join any course just click here:

So basically EAs don’t need to have an accounting background?
Absolutely! To get started in learning how to become an EA you do not need any tax, accounting or bookkeeping experience.

Hi I am from India and I recently became an Enrolled agent and I a unable to get a job as they ate all asking for an experience.....I am so frustrated and it’s like being an Enrolled agent is not helping me at all
Bro can you help me please, I'm looking out for some short term course for myself... Are you really sure EA won't help in getting entry in Big 4 kind of firms...
I'm from india and i have a finance background and not accounting..
Hi...
No it helps in getting into Big 4....I am from the finance background and that is our drawback we will consider as a fresher no matter the years of experience we have.
Hello, I am a new subscriber and I’m currently in the process of becoming an EA what fo you recommend as far as study material ?
Arkeyia Walker following
I used Passkey on Amazon, or you can join my Enrolled Agent Study Accelerator and get study guides and exams for all three parts. Here's the link to check it out. bit.ly/taxesbookkeeping
The truth is no! That's the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth! This is nothing more than a lie!!!!!
How about becoming a CPA?
Becoming a CPA is good if you want to do Audits or work in Corporate. But for your own business it’s not necessary.
@John Yu Thanks Crysta/John. I am a GA CPA
