      Playing with a click + vocals cues can be hard at first, but once you've gone a month or so with it and just trained yourself to listen for it...and practiced with the band using it, gets a lot easier! I play for my church and we use click/cues/loops, I use the mid-week rehearsal to get used to what the ques actually are, by the service time I just hear A cue and remember what section comes next and how we practiced.
      We like to say the little man in our ear, like we're all going crazy lol but if everything goes downhill, remember what the audience/congregation hears (not the cues or click), our Pastor pulls all 3 from his foot pedal and we continue on :)

    • @bigblueamusementproductions
      @bigblueamusementproductions Před 4 lety +1

      My church doesn't use that. It's just a battery pack ear monitor that just makes you hear the musicians and singers in the band. When I need to have something turned up, I have to get out of my drum cage and ask the sound guy to turn that certain instrument or voice up in my monitors. I basically have to keep a steady tempo and remember when the song ends and where I drop out.

While this is also my first time hearing what’s going on in the earpieces, it took me until the beginning of the second song to realize that was a metronome and not you wearing your leg out through the slow parts of the songs. I was really confused when it kept going through the drop in the first song.

    Nice work David, we . play many of the same tunes at our church, Been following you for a while now, love all of you videos and stories. Keep up the good work, soon you'll be on tour with likes of Lauren Daigle or Lincoln Brewster, btw, Norm Stockton plays bass for Lincoln Brewster, you should check out Norm's work.

    Who fires up the click/ques/track at your church? We’ve had the drummer do it then have had the singer do it with a Looptimus pedal. I don’t see anything obvious on stage for who is running Ableton.

      Sounded like the sound guy was using a talk back and he qued the tracks

      Tracks could of been fired from FoH or it could of been at the stage. Perhaps another musician not seen in the shot was firing them. Who fires tracks...whoever is the must trusted to do so!

    Been playing praise and worship in multiple churches (sometimes three services on Sunday) for fifteen years, but none of the services pay. What do you make for a service like this?

    This is really awesome, as someone who is not religious bands have always confused me. Is this band as big and complex (speaking about technology) as all church bands?

    • @msparks85
      @msparks85 Před 4 lety +2

      It mainly has to do with how big the church is. For 1000+ member churches, this is seems to be a typical setup. Smaller churches may use some of the same tech, but on a less professional scale.
