Look, love you guys and like your taste in music, but DUDE...how many times do we have to tell you not to talk over Brown Sugar? And Sugar, you need to stop deferring to him. Your opinions count, and not just saying "I know" to whatever he says. You guys are watching all these bands that personify female power, but you're not practicing it. This is the sole reason I'm not subscribing, and I know it turns off other people too.

Hello fam... this is your girl Brown Sugar. I just wanted to say that I respect the fact that you feel like you are sticking up for me, that really means a lot! BUT (in all caps my friend, and not out of disrespect) Brew does not talk over me... if anything I talk over him at times! lol And I actually feel bad sometimes because of it! The thing is my friend is that we are "RELAXED AF" when we do our reactions, so SOMETIMES...hahahaha we are so excited about what we are watching and hearing, that we just say it when we feel it!
NO ONE has EVER given me the love and respect that he has. Whenever I say "I KNOW", it's because he literally has said what I was thinking or about to say! It's like we share one brain at times! lmao
But not to go on a diatribe... I just wanted to say thank you for being here my friend, thank you for the love, and what matters to both Brewster & myself the most is that you, and everyone here enjoys the time and music and love we have for these bands! Stay metal my friend

AND!!!! just a side note... Feminism is not some "movement", feminism to ME is when we embrace our GODHOOD, and treat ourselves with THE RESPECT & LOVE that we claim we deserve from others. IT ALL BEGINS WITH US! AND to side note that side note... it shouldn't just be women that are embracing their GODHOOD... it should be EVERYONE!!!
We as a f'ing species needs to realize that once we stop looking at things in terms of MALE or FEMALE, or should I say masculinity & feminism, and paying attention to the things that make us different, we as a species will be able to rise in consciousness to that next level. If we all keep highlighting, observing, and shining the light on the things that make us different, we will never be able to come together as one my friends. YES we ARE all different in the ways that we are supposed to be, but the point of us all being different wasn't to make THOSE FACTS the relevant and most important thing about us.... we are supposed to all be different so that we can USE these differences to grow, experience, and enjoy this game called LIFE. Not to kick us down, and belittle each other, and hate one another.
I MY FRIENDS LIVE IN MY GODHOOD 24/7.. AND I DO IT WITH THE LOVING ASSISTANCE OF MF'ING METAL!!!

Sometimes “talking over” can be misconstrued by others. My wife often finishes my sentences, even in public, so I pull a Jack Benny and simply say, “Exactly!” Sometimes older couples sitting in complete silence over a meal are seen as “no longer talking to each other” when the fact is they’re communicating more love to each other every few seconds via body signs than some young people express during a whole year of jabber. We who are coupled know where we stand with our mates and that’s what matters most. Hugs to you Brewtality youngsters, we loves you from Texas!

I’ve noticed with Japanese metal. It’s metal music with a little Japanese magical pixie dust sprinkle in. I can’t really explain it but that’s what it seems that most modern metal is missing. It’s the only way I can explain my love for Japanese metal anyways that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

A real talented field of next-level instrumentalists across the board in all of these bands. If I were to have a vote I would give the prize to the Maids. I am a fan of all of these bands for a variety of different reasons.
I also feel it's difficult to see it as a competition where if you choose one band over the other means the rejection of the band on the losing end somehow is not a worthy band. It just becomes a matter of preference.
I feel Band-Maid provides the most reasons. Primarily they provide a variety of my favorite elements in songwriting. One: memorable guitar riffs. Two: Dynamic drum and bass with a world-class rhythm section of Akane, Misa, and Maku. Three: Unique sound signature, you know it's them within the first few bars. They sound like no other band. Which is a rare feat nowadays. Four: They manage to weave complexity in a way that holds a familiar thread and is spun into a catchy memorable package all while not sacrificing the groove. Five: Variety! They are not painted into any particular musical genre which allows them the freedom to explore and access the full musical spectrum to incorporate into their music. Overall, they have achieved a feat that I would have never seen myself ever doing in a million years and that is I find myself mimicking the vocals in a language that is completely foreign to my own. Needless to say, I'm completely surprised!

Nemophila is right there with Lovebites. Nemophila has some brutal bangers. Both guitarists are shredders. Saki and Hazuki. Saki is also in Mary’s Blood. Hazuki is in Lisa X, was in Disqualia. This is just like Miyako and Midori. Saki well known guitarist. Nemophila rocks out, hard rocks out, and brutal metal. This song is very emotional, when first played in a live stream august 2020, drummer Murata Tamu was very emotional, just returning from having her baby. Mayu is singer, Haraguchi San is bassist.I love Nemophila, Band Maid and Lovebites equally, all three are so incredible. Try the song Raitei music vid, it has a thunderous banging finish.
Band Maid are incredible, love every song they do. Try songs: Manners, Onset, Moratorium, Blooming, Puzzle. Lead guitarist, songwriter Kanami is incredible. Kanami is right there with M and M from Lovebites, Saki, Hazuki from Nemophila, Merel Bechtold as my favorite guitarists today, right there with EVH, Slash, Rhoades, Olivia, Petrucci. For me Bassist Misa, and drummer Akane are superb. Murata Tamu and Akane are favorite drummers of mine.
Epilogue and Life both have me in tears, when I listen. Both songs are gut wrenching, heart wrenching emotional songs. Band Maid daydreaming does as well.

When I first started going down this J rabbit hole about a year ago I checked out Lovebites Holy War and of course was like WOW, then I saw Band-Maid's Thrill and Onset and I started focusing on them, but I felt like I wanted to listen to something harder so I checked out more Lovebites and realized they are the HEAVY METAL CHAMPIONS and I became WOLFPACK! I also really like Nemophila. I'm glad Saki started them, while also being the best part of Mary's Blood.

  • @stephanwolfhunter
    @stephanwolfhunter Před 2 lety +2

This song from Nemophila was the first of theirs I heard and it was love at first note. The story behind the song is, it was written kind of as a welcome back to the drummer who had just come back after maternity leave. It ties them together not just as members of a band, but as family.
Another kick-ass tune from Mary's Blood is Marionette czcams.com/video/MLM2unV0kwU/video.html
I think one of the reasons Japanese rock and metal is not well known in the US is, the record industry in general, and the radio in particular, demand a certain format and length for the songs they play and the Japanese musicians are like fuck you, we will play what we will play. Like RUSH giving the finger to the industry with 2112. I've been on this journey since a friend from Tokyo demanded I listen to Band-Maid's Thrill back in 2017 and I can tell you, I'll stick by the Japanese bands over the industry all day long.
Some ppl call me a creepy old man because I gravitate toward the female bands, but if you take away their sex, age, and beauty and focus on pure talent, The female bands are so far above and beyond that I wonder sometimes if they are really from this planet. The industry is not going to let people outside Japan about these bands, so it is up to us, the fans, to support these bands and get the word out. They deserve nothing less. Sorry this is such a long read.

I enjoy your mega bowl's a lot. This was an interesting song by Nemophila, very different from their usual stuff. Mary's Blood was pretty good too. As to Lovebites - Epilogue is very different from their usual stuff too, and they really nailed it. Some reactors have been brought to tears from the song. The message in the lyrics is phenomenal, too bad you weren't able to make it out. I am used to Asami's voice now so I heard every word crystal clear. She is a really great singer to be able to hit homeruns in both the fast songs and the slow songs and has such a beautiful yet powerful voice. Midori and Miyako really made those guitars sing. Amazing. And Don't Bite the Dust, is probably Asami's favorite song because she always smiles so big when singing it and has so much fun with it. A high energy song. The Band Maid song was pretty good. I liked the riff and the guitars. I just can't seem to get into their music as much as everybody else. And the last band, no comment.

BAND MAID is a hard rock band, but it's a very diverse band. Listen to different types of songs.
1 Thrill : The first music video that saved them from dissolution. Classic rock 2014
2 Bubble : A tribute to the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, funky rock
    3 Different
: First anime opening song, new sense of high-speed rock. Anime is Log Horizon 3rd season.
4 Daydreaming : Beautiful power ballad. Kobato's backing vocals and Kanami's guitar solo are wonderful.
5 Dice : Rhythmic hard rock singing women's independence
6 about us : A gift for fans who cannot meet in a pandemic. Beautiful ballad.
7 Freedom : A power rock that walks around the stage and conveys a smile.
The transition from drum solo to lead guitar is the best.
8 Manners : Declaration to create new hard rock while inheriting classic rock. Cool hard rock. Rock'n'Roll never die.
9 alone : The song they wrote, composed and released for the first time. Medium speed Hard Rock 2016
10 Secret My Lips and Secret Maiko Lips : Funky Hard Rock. A gift for fans of April Fool's Day .
11 Blooming : Vocals and chorus are impressive, and various types of music are fused.
12 RINNE : High-speed rhythmic heavy rock, inspired by the Japanese horror movie "RINNE : Reincarnation".
RINNE (Reincarnation) is also found in Eastern thought and Buddhist thought.
13 onset : Instrumental song for lead singer Saiki breaks, their great playing power and harmony.
14 Before Yesterday : Record of the first overseas performance, Sakura-Con in Seattle 2016. Melodic Rock with great lyrics.
Added ★ Peace & Love : Founder Miku Kobato's solo project. Pigeon saves the world. Funky pop rock.

The rain keeps falling and falling
I am crying all alone again
    Time is passing me by
Not knowing of what it's gonna be
But then I realized that I was only building my own wall
It's not too hard to find what's wrong
So I gotta stand up, bring it all together
    This game has only begun
Can I only stay the way I am?
Breaking the silence in the darkness
    I don't wanna fail, I don't wanna give in
I don't wanna bite the dust
All I have is a ghost of a chance
Never to forget what I've lost
    I don't wanna fade, I don't wanna get lost
I don't wanna bite the dust
Even if it's me against the world
I'm gonna fight until I die
But then I realized that I was only building my own wall
It's not too hard to find what's wrong
So I gotta stand up, bring it all together

Mary's Blood, go back to around 2013 and prove to be an audio and visual treat. I hope you react to many songs from them.
The Lovebites, double bill provide relentless quality as always.
Akane's drumming in the Band Maid song is giving Haruna a run for her money 😄 For me, Band Maid are the best Japanese rock/pop band.

Thank you so much Glynthepin!!!! We appreciate that for sure!!! And I know!!! It sucks that these videos often get blocked, and what I am noticing is that the blocks are mostly coming from Japan from mgmt. I could put the videos that get blocked up where everyone can watch, but for me... that is cheating our BREWCREW/WOLFPACK that are hanging out with us over in Japan out of the footage. So I have a strict **EIther we ALL WATCH, or NONE of us watch policy!!!! I mean, we can all privately watch the videos, so it's a win for me in my book. They just don't let us react to it, and show you all the video at the same time. It's odd for me, but I guess I get it???... Hopefully we will all be able to watch the videos while reacting! I am holding on to hope for that for sure!
Nemophila is fast becoming one of our new FAVS for SURE!!! I love their passion and spirit! Not to mention the musicianship!!!! UGGHHH F'ING PHENOMS!!!! Mary's Blood TOO!!! I am SO HAPPY that we got turned on to JAPANESE METAL!!!! It is now one of my favorite things to listen to now!
Band_Maid are SICK AF ALSO!!! And wow... the drummers in all of these bands for me are TOP NOTCH!!! My ear as an ex-drummer (gonna get back to it someday soon lol) almost ALWAYS listens to the drums before anything else really... then the bass, then everything else that rounds the music out. It has always been a habit of mine to do so.
Dexcore is something special to me. I love everything about this band!!! I know it can't be everyone's cup of tea, just like some other things won't always be mine, but DUDE!!!... They have the IT Factor for sure! Musicianship, heaviness, growls from the pit (ahhhhhh) the clean vocals... the RIFFS... those beastly drums.. dude... I LOVE IT! Again, not for everyone, but that is ok. We all can't love everything the same. That would be boring! lol
Thanks for staying with us... more fun to come my friend!

Since 2014, I have mainly followed Japanese rock/metal with respect to new bands. Prior to that, my knowledge of Japanese music and Japanese lady's had consisted of some obscure Japanese Jazz bands that a school friend of a friend was listening to and Deep Purple's album Made In Japan, and their song Woman In Tokyo. Yoko Ono was the only Asian woman I knew about.
Compare that to today with the statement it does not matter what you do, there is a Japanese lady who does it better than you. I borrowed that quote. Since 2014 where I have lived in the southern hemisphere, I can only wish I could turn back my own time and be in my early 20's. The quality of the lady Japanese bands musicianship and the way many of them behave, and their politeness combined with the enjoyment they ooze onstage when they play, would be manna from heaven compared to the bands I used to watch back in the 1970's. For or five disinterested guys totally self absorbed and looking like they are hating every minute of playing apart from the 'orgasm face' guitar solo. I know that is a generalisation.
Watching the various female bands from Japan and apologies for being crude but not only are you seeing and hearing fantastic talent but who would not want to pluck their pussy's the way they pluck their strings?
As you are an x drummer, you are spoilt with Akane, Haruna etc. It was Misa's bass playing that hooked me into Band Maid.
Thanks for your comments and good luck with your channel. Brown Sugar? Not so sure about the heroin name choice but I am a reserved Englishman! 😄

Well, I'm not a Lovebites fan ( but like the song from Halestorm, where their name is coming from ). Don't ask me why, it is not the quality ( they are absolutely talented ), I tried it several times, but it is not my stuff. But that doesn't matter, they have so much fans, they can't be wrong.
And that is leading to my real comment...thank god for the Rock music, either it is Metal, Hard, Ballads or any other.

    You will believe yourself

Nemophila are my second favourite band even ahead of Band-Maid who are spectacular and unbelievable band. Lovebites on the other hand are the No1. on its own almost unreachable level. In my and many other opinion they are the best band in past 20 or so years and surely top 10 all time. Though out of the three Band-Maid are more popular as their musical style is more acceptable than the style of Lovebites or even Nemophila. As for Mary's Blood they are a darn good band as well as Aldious and Ghacaric Spin.
As for soft/pop rock/punk/ska/reggae style it is undoubtedly Scandal who started 15 years ago and coined the term J-Rock. Spectacular musicians as well, all compose, all sing and just legends.
Japan is just better in any musical style, even the J-pop and dance scene, though not as popular as K-Pop, more like completely unknown and hidden gem.

@@brewtalityfilmsllc4871 It was cool. Life is one of my favourite Nemophila songs. In fact one of my favourite songs, period. The official video (the studio version over the livestream footage) gets me all teary, in a good way. Anyway Band-Maid broke today's mellow theme (not mellow) and I don't think Dexcore do "mellow", but I could be wrong since I don't really know their stuff.
I like these Mega Bowls, especially when it's all-Japanese. Reason being, a lot of people watch reactions to bands who are the current trend, but ignore reactions to a lot of legendary bands, or just great bands who deserve to be more well known. Even Mary's Blood, who are probably the most popular all-female metal band in Japan (outside of Aldious who have a higher profile with the mainstream public due to being the first one signed to a major label) get pathetically low views compared to bands-of-the-moment. And forget about classic metal bands from the 80s who are still going (Ningen Isu excepted). Someone reacted to Valkyrie the other day, first reaction I've ever seen to Valkyrie. They were the first all-female thrash band in Japan, broke up in the 80s or early 90s, then reformed in 2015, and I swear only 3 people outside of Japan even know they exist, so the reaction got something like 90 views. Throw them in a Mega Bowl with Lovebites and Band-Maid, and they instantly get thousands of views, so I like the concept.
Also, Saki rules, so two videos for the price of one works for me.
