Star Wars Episode VII opening crawl - Expanded Universe edition (Parody)

I've read a lot of discussions regarding the upcoming Star Wars movies. One, often returning subject is about whether or not the Expanded Universe (books, comics, games, etc.) will be preserved, since there's been twenty-some years of authors writing about the continuing adventures of Luke, Leia, Han and the rest.
Some people want the slate after Return of the Jedi wiped clean, some want the EU to remain but don't see how it can be, and some think that the existing stories can be referenced in the opening crawl of Episode 7. This video is for them.
There's also a little dig toward JJ Abrams ;)
And the 'crawl' just goes on, and on....
It's a good summary, but I couldn't help but laugh when the theme restarted! It was like a Monty Python sketch or something!
Yeah, that's sort of the point. It's meant to be funny because it's so ridiculous :)
Well, you can summarize it leaving off some less important parts: Joruus C'Baoth, the emperor clones, little kids kidnapping, the return of Thrawn (which isn't really a return), you can also skip the Vong, because they were wiped away after all, and you can also not mention Jacen and Anakin, as they were killed. I would also not recall Thrawn at all, and just say "remnants of the empire were still causing troubles" or something. And you can also let characters explain something in the movie.

The title I think is a bit long, I would have shortened it to "Threat of the Past" or "A New Threat", other than that, (and aside from the ridiculous length of the the text), its pretty good.
And everyone thought the opening titles in Phantom Menace were bad...

That was pretty funny. However, there is no reason for them to mention anything at all about Thrawn, Palpatine's return, the kidnappings etc. They just say something like a former spy/agent whatever of Palpatine, Mara Jade became allies and eventually married Luke Skywalker. Had a son blah blah So did Han and Leia. Chewie died from the Vong and the Vong were defeated. You could fit that in 2 paragraphs. And we can pretend like Caedus never happened :P
But At the least, I hope they keep up until NJO canon. That era was pretty good and it can easily survive VII, while NJO and beyond could make a lot of complications for the story. At the most, I hope NJO survives and it's retconned to Chewie is alive...somehow... because trust me, they will probably want Chewie in the Sequel Trilogy. Then again, maybe Chewie has a son named Chewie but he is called Chewie in the movies and only known as Chewie Jr. in the books....or something....*sigh*

Hahaha, my bad! I just threw in the big parts (I have no idea what happens in Fate of the Jedi, and the rest is filler :P)
