It's just funny how the mild-mannered rookie from Raccoon City turned U.S. super agent can mix-up his hand-to-hand combat with beautiful, precise taekwondo and knife-wielding martial arts, with fucking pro-rasslin' moves like throwing German suplexes, running bulldogs and curbstomping heads. It makes Dante's connection with him just much stronger.
You've confirmed it, Leon is a descendent of Sparta. Dante his daddy, Virgil his uncle and Nero his cousin. Finally the family tree is complete for DMC 😂😂

Intentional or not, Taekwondo for Leon was a pretty good decision. A rookie police officer in a zombie apocalypse being constantly grabbed and eaten alive, no wonder he would wanted to literally stay at leg's lenght.
I cannot believe someone articulated my thoughts like this but I have always thought in a zombie situation taekwondo would be the best martial art even though it gets a bad rap nowadays.
And kicks use more powerful leg muscles, which helps if your hands are full with a flashlight & pistol

This is actually insanely well detailed for an analysis of a fighting style, most videos I see which try to analyze fictional characters’ fighting styles usually just talk about one thing. It’s nice to see just how much time you put looking for the exact move and even pinpointing which style makes sense for previous skills we’ve seen

That was perfect analysis of Leon's fighting styles I knew from the start Leon is trained in taekwondo as he mainly uses kicks whereas for Chris is is trained in boxing as he uses straight punches, hooks uppercuts and kidney punches Chris mainly uses punches in fighting

Excellent video, and by the way; I’m a former professional wrestler, and I can vouch that Leon definitely uses a lot of pro wrestling moves in his arsenal. Also, we all should know that pro wrestling is typically scripted, but there’s also a wrestling style called “shoot” style. This is 100% real, there’s no script, and the matches aren’t predetermined. This “shoot” wrestling is especially popular in Japan. The following wrestlers have done this in Japan, and they are:

I mean to be fair why would you make up a whole new martial art when you can just pull from real ones, especially for something that's (somewhat) bound to reality
I was hoping you would include Degeneration, Damnation, and Vendetta because those have continuity with the games. And because the fights in Vendetta are batshit crazy. But I was glad to see this character highlighted, and hope you do more RE characters!
I love those films too. But, because they are not in the same medium, I don't include them in the analysis. There have been other instances where a novel or comic is technically canon, but I don't include it if it's not in the same medium/format. It would only unfairly inflate final tallys as not all characters have bonus canon films, novels, or comics. That disclaimer has always been on my videos.

Systema is actually not a functional martial art, very much so. It looks good, but most of the techniques do not work on resisting opponents, and the techniques are often overly complex and reliant on pain-compliance or "pressure points" which do not work under real world combat conditions.
Basically it's the Aikido of "military martial arts", there are some myths about it being taught to Spetznaz troops, but the H2H training they do is pretty much MMA, it's nothing like Systema.
@@AveSicarius actually no, u have an opinion like that because u never see it for real, u just watch video on CZcams and watch a fake master do it, police force learn systema, and systema is a standard fighting style in army and police, in America police learn systema

I'd highly recommend doing a video on Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza series. Just as a filthy casual, I've noticed him doing boxing, kickboxing, tae kwon do, judo and wrestling moves as I've been playing the Yakuza games. Great video, as usual, mate!
