Song that was inspired by the tragic ancient Greek poet Euripides and more specifically his creation 'Bakxais'. And translated as “Come Lord”. This pure bacchanalian play refers to the coming of the new god. The ritualistic atmosphere of this historical theatre drama influenced us lyrically as well as musically and resulted in this song that you are currently listening to. There only remains one thing, which is us taking you on a mystical journey into ancient Greek bacchanalian occultism. The female guest vocals are courtesy of the fabulous Danai Katsameni, an actress of the National Hellenic Theater.

Danai’s vocals on this song will never be beat. Some of the sickest delivery ever done from spitting rhymes to deep screams. Never heard anything like it.

Όποτε ακούω αυτή την υπέρτατη κομματάρα κάνω εικόνα βιντεοκλιπάρα . Η Ιέρεια(Δανάη) να στέκεται πάνω σε έναν ψηλό βράχο , κάτω από την κορυφή του Ολύμπου. Ο Ουρανός εντελώς συννεφιασμένος και σκοτεινός . Τα σύννεφα στροβιλίζονται γύρω από την κορυφή του βουνού, ενώ η ιέρεια (Δανάη) με την δυνατή της φωνή καλεί τον Δία . Σε κάθε ρεφρέν μετά το Ελθέ Κύριε ο Δίας εμφανίζεται σαν ένα τεράστιο κεφάλι μέσα σε σύννεφα και κεραυνούς να απαντάει στο κάλεσμα της Ιέρειας. Αυτός ο "διάλογος" συνεχίζεται έως το τέλος όπου Ιέρεια και Δίας συγχρονίζονται. Το κομμάτι τελειώνει με τον Όλυμπο να απομακρύνεται από την Ιέρεια η οποία με την τελευταία της κραυγή βρίσκεται να ξυπνάει μέσα στον ιδρώτα , μέσα σε ένα κελί ενός Χριστιανικού μοναστηριού ως μοναχή. The first time I heard this I will never ever forget. I closed my eyes and saw what I felt, my heart being ripped from my chest. This was my first ever adventure with Rotting Christ, for some reason their 30 year catalogue of music had evaded me until I heard this. I have been forever affected by this. It has been over a year now, and have become a fan of their entire body of work.
Check SepticFlesh too, another great greek band. Sunlight/Moonlight, Virtues of the Beast, Prototype, Dark Art etc.
I had known Rotting Christ for years before this song came out, but i remember it was the first preview from Rituals and I heard it the day it came out. It starts with the woman yelling at the gods, and initially, I wasn't crazy about it. But after you listen to the whole song, and feel the beauty and power of it, and the amazing layering of sounds and elements, it grows on you quickly... and by the end of the song, you realize how perfect it is, and the fast-paced yelling is essential to it. This song is perfect because of all of the diverse elements in it.

I think Danai makes this song perfect. Without her, it would sound like any other decent black metal song, but thanks to her it stands out in a crowd.
It would still be unique because RC doesnt sound like the majority of bm bands.

Am I the only one who noticed the chorus changes after the first verse? It goes from "sons of God will forgive you and the weapon for new wars they'll give you" to something I can't quite make out. It sounds like "... And the fate for the new God they'll give you". I looked up the lyrics but as is the case for many RC songs, they haven't been transcribed correctly.
