    This video series is part of my effort to get all my RC cars up and running this year. One car at a time. Slowly. I hope I will make it.
    Be aware that this is not a true restoration of a vintage model. More of a runner-project with a complete clean-up, transformation, upgrade and modernization. Some will like the final result, some will not. I will.
    This is an original 1999 Tamiya Wild Dagger I purchased for little money several years ago. It was dirty and well-used but I never got around to a clean-up and restoration, before now.

    Fyi, the 860 esc has been replaced by its successor, the 880 esc. I am impressed that you landed the 860 esc.

      Ahh, he he. Didn’t even know that. Yeah, most of the stuff for this project I got two years ago. Just never got around to starting. The 880 looks cool 🙂

      Thanks, Sven! Mini Clod Buster is an excellent and perfect name for the WR-01 I think! Final video and a little test run up tomorrow 🙂

    Great progress Mikael! Nicely done, too. Strange you needed to change the Transmitter? Anyway, the Wild Dagger is looking cool, and I think the servo you fitted will do just fine. Can't wait to see it finished! :))

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks, Mark. Yeah, something is wrong. I had problems with it on the last run too. Not sure I will bother investigating, since I got the brand new spare one. Springs, where and trigger and everything feels so much better too. I’ve used the old one quite a lot. And thanks! Yeah, servo will do for now 🙂 Final video coming up this weekend. Thanks a lot for watching, my friend.

    Very sensible choices between what you have and what you bought. Nice! I would not have done any differently. It's not sexy but you can wrap the receiver in a ballon so all the electronics are waterproof.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 4 lety

      Thank you, Benoit. Yeah, not too much, not too little. I think it will be fine. Yeah, but I think the hot glue or epoxy on a receiver is better. But the Sanwa receiver on this one is already waterproof/splashproof.

    I was surprised there was a issue with fitting the motor wires might be they use larger plugs being for 1/8th. All the Hobbywing I have used never a issue. The ESC does look up to the job size wise but testing we will see.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 4 lety

      Hi Mal! Yeah, I was surprised too. I think it is the RC4WD Motor wires/plugs that are small, but haven’t measured it or re-wired it yet. My other Hobbywing fits perfect to the motors I have tried it with. I think the ESC will do great, although I was surprised at the low speed on my test run (coming later this weekend) 🤨

      It would have been better, because
      it has more setup adjustment and even adjustable PMW Frequency!

      Finally finished my Bullhead body today....
      Yesterday I built the chassis...
      4 wheel steering is completely different than the standard front steer..
      It's also a lot slower, but hey,a monster truck is more shine and show, especially the stage 2 version out of the 80s...
      The stage 1's in the very early 80s(talking about the real monster truck scene) were very heavy and even had LEAF SPRINGS!
